Assuming nobody gets sent back

Jost - Strome - Raddysh
Dubois - Barzal - Gauthier
Cirelli - Steel - Stephens
Senyshen - McLeod - Roy
Patrick

Chabot - Juulsen
Bean - Myers
Lauzon - Fabbro
Girard

Hart
Ingram

I had a really tough time cutting Clague, that was the toughest decision. Hope to get Chychrun to force another tough decision. Hope for Beauvillier too, that would be a big boost. Not sure I want Crouse. That sounds bad, he's a better option than some of these guys but I fell like they'll be all, oh 2 time returnee, 11th overall, coming from the NHL, immediate 1st line wing spot. Wouldn't be the first time. And of course he could succeed just fine in that role, haven't seen much Coyotes hockey this year yet, but I feel like he'd be better suited in a 3rd line role which he won't get if he's loaned out.

Really like Hart, was really bummed when he didn't last until the Leafs 2nd 2nd rounder. If we're gonna win he's gonna play a huge role in it for sure.

Disappointed that Givanni Smith isn't there (and that Zach Senshyn is), and I don't care much about Guillaume Brisebois either. Otherwise, no issue, and GREAT for going out-of-the-box and inviting McNiven.

Would have liked to have seen Cliff Pu get an invite. No surprising or glaring inclusions / omissions, though.

I agree. If Crouse returns, I certainly hope it is in a role to which he is suited.

He is a dual...

China Olympics 2022. He may want to keep his options open on making some big bank.

He's a decent player, but I think his chances at being future Team Canada player are somewhat limited.

I did not know that.
There goes his shot at starring for the Chinese NT in 2022. OR

they make an exception for athletes playing for the Chinese NT. I'm sure Beijing is not interested in being pounded 19-0.

Looks like the roster battles will be at FW with our goalies locked up and just 2 RH d-men. Should be interesting, I'm expecting some surprise players on this team

My best guess...

Dubois
Strome
Gauthier

Joseph
Barzal
Raddysh

Jost
Steel
Senyshyn

Cirelli
Roy
Stephens

X Dube

Chabot
Juulsen

Lauzon
Myers

Girard / Brisebois
Fabbro

X Brisebois / Girard

Hart
Ingram

(Assuming Nolan Patrick, Blake Speers, and Jake Bean are hurt and no one from NHL is returned)

3 RHD... Juulsen, Myers, and Fabbro. They listed Myers as left, which is incorrect.

I'm guessing that Pu has a good shot to play for Canada next year. China isn't a realistic option though.

on another more curious note...

now that Hockey Canada doesn't have the Strome Marner chemistry BS to push, somehow that storyline has shifted to Jost - Strome chemistry based on their performance at the summer evaluation camp...

now, perhaps my memory is failing me as I advance in years, but I don't remember anything of the sort...

what are your recollections of the summer evaluation camp?

Now that we've seen the selection camp (assuming no NHL loans), what do you guys think of a roster like this...

Jost-Strome-Gauthier (first line would look alot better if Marner was getting loaned back but lots of skill on this line and two guys like Strome and Gauthier can really shoot the puck)
Dubois-Barzal-Stephens (stephens is a hardworker and can ccontribute offensively as well, should bode well for elite skill guys like Dubois and Barzal)
Steel-Mcleod-Raddysh (lots of speed and power on this line, gut feeling sees Mcleod and Raddysh being good together)
Joseph-Roy-Patrick (big heavy fourth line, hopefully can be like Ritchie-Gauthier-Crouse line from 2015)
Cirelli (can play up and down the lineup in all situations)

Chabot-Juulsen (can match up against any line in this tourney and can play second powerplay minutes)
Bean-Fabbro (good offensive ability in both players, but fabbro's stability will allow Bean to push the pace offensively)
Lauzon-Myers (Stay at home Myers will bring stability to Lauzons game , great third pairing)
Girard (Let's hope he becomes the Ryan Ellis of Powerplay Specialist)

Hart
Ingram

What chemistry? Did they even play together much. I certainly don't recall that.

What I do recall is the entire team playing like trash and Ducharme making questionable coaching decisions.

well, Famer Bob mentioned it a few times, and we all know Bob gets his talking points from Hockey Canada...

I certainly didn't see anything of the sort last summer...so, I don't know what Farmer Bob is going on about...

Lauzon-Myers (Stay at home Myers will bring stability to Lauzons game , great third pairing)

Have you seen Myers play much? I don't say this to be antagonistic, but I have watched quite a few of his games due to his NHL affiliation and stay at home is one of the last ways I would describe him. I find him to be rather aggressive all over the ice.

Again, it has nothing to do with his skill level -- I'm purely talking style. It's interesting to me that people can watch the same games and end up with wildly different conclusions.

I barely saw any of that camp, but TSN is the first I've seen to say that there was chemistry there. TSN can say what it wants, but hopefully the coaching staff doesn't buy it like it did with the Strome/Marner propaganda. Strome/Marner was worse though, since we had ample evidence (watching the U17 tournament, then seeing them together at camp etc.) that the chemistry was completely fictional.

What I'm curious about now is Bean. The guy has only played 3 games this year, was only the 13th pick in his draft, wasn't close to making the team last year, and yet McKenzie has had him penciled into a top four spot for weeks. Since McKenzie often has reasons for his projections, I'm curious about what I'm missing with Bean. To me he looks like a guy who shouldn't be in contention at this point.
