I believe for the North America U23 team, they get to pick all the U23 guys.. So guys like MacKinnon, Ekblad, Eichel, McDavid, and Gaudreau wouldn't be eligible for Team Canada/USA.

I doubt Franzen is going to be playing in this tournament, but I would be happy if he did, that would mean that he had a 2015-2016 NHL season behind him without major injuries and with a good point production.

But really you should replace Franzen with Filip Forsberg there.

they haven't specified that yet. Even NHL.com posted a U-24 roster this year.

One wrinkle still to be ironed out is the exact age qualification for North America’s young stars team. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly told TSN.ca the official birthdate cutoff for the team has not yet been set. Any player who falls in the younger category, believed to be 23-and-under by the time the tournament begins, will not be available to be selected by Team Canada or Team USA.

Maybe it's more WRONG to call it 23 and under than u24. One or two players might actually be 24 years and two weeks during the course of the tournament.
