I am disappointed Grönborg is not doing anything about the static and slow PP full with insecure actions. Everyone can se Erik and Oliver do not work well at blueline, Henrik is doing routinepasses, there are no whatsover quick puckmovement and the players without puck are standing still. Erik should play left side. They need a player in first PP-unit that is aggressive and can fight for the puck. They need to stop being so friggin polite to each other. A team ned to have its hierarchy where everyone knows their role. As it is now, it's too much passing to be polite to the other guy.

well Swedes got the worst schedule. Look at it. Against NAT it was clearly a nightmare, playing them 18hrs after a game vs Finland, then they have too long (three days off) vs Europe.

I agree, especially about that role part. However, what I've heard Gronborg/Popovic are very good at asigning specific roles for players. Hopefully, it's fixed for tomorrows game.

I wouldn't blame that on the schedule though. They just seem a bit insecure on what their roles on the PP.

If anything, I was impressed with how the Swedes fought back against T-NA. To me it seemed Sweden had the most energy in the third period.

The Sedins are possession players who LOVE to hold on to the puck for extended periods of time.

Same with Karlsson. That leaves OEL not utilized properly.

Sedins are selfish on the PP. Play them on a seperate unit from EK. EK respects them and doesn't want to disrupt whatever they're doing.

The good thing with that though, is that Hedman for instance got time to heal his legs.

Why the everlasting flying spaghetti monster must Swedes be made of glass when playing on the national team? Sweden already lost the highest number of players before it started and then Backlund and now Silfverberg. If Sweden reaches the final by game 2 they will be playing Landeskog-Berglund-Soderberg as the first line.

The experiment with having the sedin as PP1 should be over now. We have Bäckström that is probably the best playmaker in the world in PP, and the PP work great in olympics, it didnt make any sense from the start to change, and now when the experiment havnt been a success we should absolutly go back to letting Bäckström run the first PP.

I haven't heard anything about Silfverberg, link?

Two teams from Europe face eachother on a Sunday at 01:05.

Who the hell made this schedule?

Probably won't even watch this game as I have to get up for work 3 hours after the game is over.

Edit: wait. Now it says 19:00 on bet365?

Which is it?

I'm pretty sure 1.05 is the local canadian time and 19:00~ is our local swedish time. Considering all games that started 3:00 PM ish this tournament was 21.00 here.

I know that Grönborg is a real NHL nerd which is cool. Perhaps the first time we have a national coach with lots of knowledge about North American hockey?

Same forward lines all tournament, problem scoring goals all tournament...

Sucks to lose but we would have been murdered against Canada.

Let's be real.

Sweden's whole WC performance was underwhelming.

How many players played to their potential?

Let's start with our sc. elite defence.

Karlsson and perhaps Hjalmarsson. The rest did not play at the level they are capable of. In some cases not even close (yes, I'm looking at you, OEL). Hedman was okay, but nowhere close to the level he should be at.

Among forwards. Perhaps the Sedins did, given their age, but aside from them? Eriksson was solid all through.

Bäckström, Forsberg, Landeskog...none of them reached the level they are capable of.

The bottom six were decent, but no real standouts.

Lundqvist played the worst when it mattered the most.

Overall, even though we reached OT in the semis, these 4 games were really underwhelming - neither effort nor individual dominance from none other than perhaps Karlsson.

Just not good enough.

And losing like 7 players to injuries isn't even a legit excuse either. The ones we had should have performed much better than they were.

Good that this gimmick pre-season tournament is over, barring two blowouts from Canada. Now we're only weeks away from the real hockey that the players actually care about.

I don't know about you, but to me it looked like the players cared a lot in this tournament.

:dunno:

We need a new coach. Grönborg is a joke.

Why is it so hard to get a good coach.

There is Hallam, Melin, Rönnberg.
