Current composition of Czech defense: 2 players who don't have contract for the season (Jordan, Nakladal)

FWIW, (most) Flames fans want Nakladal back. We're just stuck with two massive bottom pair RD contracts that are conflicting with him.

Skip Ahead to 13:53, the Jakub Nakladal NHL highlights package :naughty: (his snipe @ ~17:20 was one of my favorite goals last year)

SO.... Zacha to replace Sobotka, or is Frolik going to move to center and we get to see Vrana?

Maybe something cool like Vrbata or Tlusty :P

It's probably gonna be Vrana. But I'm damn excited!! :handclap:

That wouldn't be cool at all lol

I liked Sobotka in the game before he got injured, but if it's officialy out, here's hoping it's Vrana. I believe he could make a a similiar impact Pastrnak does.

Good.

Can anybody explain me why Jandac looks so stoned up there? I dont doubt their education but our guys just need some confidence and our coaches definetely dont look like they have it.... Why do we always have to be a team whose entire line discuss on ice how to play it?! Wish I am mistaken but it would be fine to find a coach who can finally get best from our players....

Hlinka is unfortunately dead... since his death, there's been no one of his qualities. That's sad.

Thats sad because I have to give big credit to Jandac and Kalous for how they prepare them. I believe system works, everything, but this is just..... You see them on bench and they simply should behave differently. Just have different attitude. These guys want so much that only thing they dont need are two guys in spasm trying to explain them what they should do. I know Hlinka was exactly that type of guy but I really wish to that team to deal with it somehow because it is obvious that all of them are prepared for it really well. And they could really make something. I dont care about injuries etc. we just need more flow between coaches and players. Sorry to say it but here you see what that means when you are talented but you never experienced big show as NHL. Its just different when you talk to guys from Trinec or Sparta and 20 NHLers.

I know this will probably follow us forever but it would be nice to get over it in this case because I dont see any tention here or some holes in preparation. Even defence didnt look that bad. This is only thing we miss. but Jandac was always like that so....

I don't understand why the NHL and NHLPA are combining national teams like team Europe and team North America. The World Cup of Hockey should have just let Switzerland and Slovakia play in this tournament instead of Europe and North America.

Hell if we're allowed to combine teams the Czechs and the Slovaks should just reunite for this one tournament and form team Czechoslovakia once again :5:

What a great idea! And we can make two teams of USA. Maybe team Confederation and Union? Team Europe makes this tournament just another all star game.

Don't know if Arizona would be considered a free or slave state ( hey, just being historical ), but even if we gave the Rebels Matthews, dem damn Yankees would still clobber em 10-1 :yo:

Todays fourth line: Birner - Cervenka - Jaskin . Thats quite scarry. Maybe not against NA24 but in group stage.....

Scary in good sense or bad? :dunno: I will watch tonight game. I really enjoyed NA team against Europe. I am curious what they show against actual nation.

Yesterday's game reminded me of the days when our WJC team used to get a good thrashing...seems like that reality has transferred to the national team

I thought Palat was our best player. Didn't like Kempny, not sure he's a good as people seem to think. Not sure where Voracek has disappeared to, but I was never truly convinced that he was going to be a great player. Too inconsistent imo. Does anyone else think that when he skates with the puck and moves it from side-to-side he keeps it too tight to his body? It looks very stiff and not fluid (compare to Hemsky).

Neuvirth disappointed me, I expected him to play better (although he did make some good saves).

I think we have a decent chance of beating Europe and USA if we put in a solid effort and get some amazing goalkeeping.

Cesi do toho!

When was it? 8-6 years ago? Makes sense, since those players that got trashed at the WJCs should be the core players in prime years right now. I personally think the senior team is going through the worst right now. Draft classes XXXX-2005 are getting old and 2012-XXXX are too young. 2006-2011 were pretty poor outside of a few individuals. (Not saying future is super bright by any means, but I believe it will be better than current state.)

I didn't see the whole game (left midway through the second), but I actually really liked Kempny, outside of that brutal, brutal giveway. (10 seconds left and he literally skates into the best player on planet, trying to deke him.) Voracek is good, but not the PPG star he was in 2014-2015. He is a career 60-65 point player and one amazing season doesn't change that. Shame we lack Krejci, Hertl and Gudas, wonder if they would have been able to slow down Canada. (Could add Jagr, Hudler and Nestrasil too if speaking the best possible roster) Oh well :)

Feel it the same way. Canada is far and away the best team in the world, the loss is tough, but I do think both Europe and USA are beatable.

I am not sure about Voracek. He looks like he knows team relies on him but can not transform it on the ice. He also does not have any Giroux here and he is from club on the edge of playoff.

I wish we succed in next two games but honestly, normally half of our Ds wouldn't make a team for this level. Scoring has been an issue in national team at least for last two seasons. But Jandac is the biggest mistery for me. He looks like the most passive coach ever. He might prove me wrong in that next two matches but, even if I believe he is fully capable to give a face and character to this team, I think this stage is too much for him. He really does not have any charisma....

Mrazek will start against Team Europe (coaching staff is obviously happy with Neuvirth's performance vs Canada).

New lines.

Palat-Plekanec-Voracek
M.Michalek-Hanzal-Pastrnak
Cervenka-Sobotka-Hemsky
Frolik-Jaskin-Birner (???)

Kempny-Polak
Nakadal-Sustr
Jordan-Z.Michalek

Mrazek

Faksa may be injured and is questionable for tomorrow... I don't understand the 4th line, there is no natural center on that line. I think they are hoping that Faksa is good to go for tomorrow and that he will center the 4th line... Frolik-Faksa-Jaskin

Kundratek out

I wouldnt be hasitate to try Kundratek. Even if we played against best team ,number of errors when we start offense was horrible even in that first ten minutes. Jaskin and Frolik should step up a lot imo.

I've got to agree man. Jandac doesn't look like he's doing anything to be honest. He just stares and stares and says nothing. Case in point: just before 3-on-3 overtime Prospal grabs a pen and whiteboard and wants to try and get something going by chatting to the players. He talks to Jandac but he just shakes his head and says nothing.

I don't want to keep going on about Kempny, but he just doesn't look like he can handle playing at this level. It looks like it's just too fast for him. I hope he can adapt to the speed of the NHL, but it's not convincing right now.

Jordan is rubbish as well. Nakladal wasn't great either.

That defense :(

Same against Liberec in final, same here. Prospal pushed himself so back just because of Jandac. No one even said anything there, anything. Its always like this, guys must do it by themselfs. Agree that this stage is so far too high for Kempny, Nakladal and Jordan. Even Sustr had problems there and Polak is probably our best D... This must show somewhere.

Yes, I noticed Sustr as well.

Man, Hanzal sounds so down in that interview. The whole team's confidence must be rock bottom right now. :/
