It's a shame Vrána, Simon or Zacha won't go, at this point it doesn't make much difference. Birner is meh, but he played good at Worlds this year, he can shoot the puck, so whatever ... I say we win the group :sarcasm: :yo:
 
I am a big supporter of young players, but if you did not take necessary Vrána MS, so expect that it will take now is a utopia. They take him to Russia, the weakness was not there. It was now clear that it will not take. Birner is a good choice if you build on last year's form. Currently, we are total outsiders, with Birner or with someone else.
 
Meh.

Not impressed with the Birner selection. Kundratek I don't mind. Not surprised by Hudler's lack of enthusiasm. If they only want you there when they're desperate, how much do they really want you?

Showed up retweeted by some Stars beatwriters on my Twitter. Guess Huddler and the some of the people with the Czech Hockey don't like each other very much.
 
So now just win it guys! We basically lost 2:1 with weaker team against Canada (if you count that goal) in 2015 WHC so I am optimistic here :)

Canada had a much weaker team. We will get destroyed, if I had to guess, something like 1:6

Mrazek would need to bring his beast mode if we want to keep the score close.

Thats what he has to bring anyway. Defence is very weak now. As for offense, despite undoubtful quality of Hertl and Krejci , I am more dissapointed that we miss that winning mentality in those two guys. Neither Plekanec nor Jandac are that types. We can not be cold up there, they have to eat the ice there, thats our only chance. Its probably the weakest team ever but should be super motivated and If rumours ar true, well prepared.

Didn't they hit like 4 posts? So more like 6:1. But I get your point, there's always a chance.
 
Cervenka won't be in the top two lines imo. I'd pick Frolik. I would also try Hanzal as a 1st line center with Jake and Palat.
 
Kundratek thinks that our team is contender for a medal. He either hasn't followed NHL at all since he left or someone forgot to show him rosters, maybe both. Uh. I mean... I don't expect him to say that he thinks our team is weak, of course not, but this is little ridiculous.

Kundratek is quite smily optimistic guy. To be honest I was waiting for somebody to say it:)

Btw. That comparison is not that important imo. Their Ds are brutally good in offense, our not, so we will be locked in our zone, but it does not mean they automatically score goals. Our forwards will have tougher job in both zones. But its the beginning of the season and our coaches all know the situation. So it will be tougher in all aspects but not impossible. I am not sure whether they knew it in Sochi where we blew with Sweden and USa. It just seemed to me that we tried to play too much open hockey with them, this time we should really adapt it to our situation

This quite outside the box but I just have feeling that Sobotka wont be that much ready and in case we loose first game against Canada it could look like this after.

Do you remember that time when Novotny kept saying we were gonna win the World Championship in 2010? Against Russia in the final :laugh:

Not saying we're gonna win a medal, but stranger things have happened.
 
So apparently Cervenka is gonna play with Pleky and Voras on line 1 :laugh:
