It will be the NTDP U17 team and the foreign teams should be close to full strength aside from possibly a few players per team playing up with their respective U18 teams. Should be a great tournament to see with lots of good players.

Thanks for the information. There's not a lot of high end hockey in Cleveland so when I get a chance like this if I can take advantage, I do.

I saw the U17 play a few years ago at the Four Nations tourney. Saw Thatcher Demko, Devin Williams, Gabe Guertler, Anthony DeAngele, Michael Downing (who we also watch at UM), Adam Erne and a few others.

I like to watch the kids progress through time.

Any roster information for Sweden or Russia or is it too early?

I think it's to early, I also live in Cleveland and I drove up last year to watch the russian group vs. the US U-17's and it was a great game to watch. That was a really good Russian team, they beat that U.S. U-17 team a total of 3 times last year in different tournaments. Vitali Abramov for team Russia was outstanding. So damn fast. He's with the Olympique in the QMJHL now.

I wanted to go to that tourney last year but had other plans. I already have my tickets for the Saturday games (Sweden/CZE and US/Russia). Can't wait.

The NTDP U17 team has had their share of injuries this year. Tyler Inamoto and Michael Pastujov have been out forever and Logan Hutsko is now missing the Four Nations in Switzerland.

My guees about what Russian lines would look like:

Bitsadze - Alexeev Y. - Kostin
Lipanov - Chekhovich - Muranov
Zenchikov - Kozlov I. - Kovalenko
Demin - Statsenko - Marushev
(Zaplatnikov)

Rubinchik - Alexeev A.
Kazamanov - Samorukov
Osin - Kholodenin
Kozlov M. - Baranov
(Rarov)

5 of 6 players in first two lines play together in HC MVD (also Demin and Rubinchik). Bitsadze - Alexeev - Kostin is deadly. Lipanov and Chekhovich also play in one line, and Muranov played with them in December at the 4 Nations Tournament in Slovakia.
3rd line looked good together at the Finland - Russia exhibitions games in August.
4th line I'm not sure about. I wonder why only one of Marushev twins was called. Maxim has slightly better stats than Daniil though.

Next week is gonna be great. A lot of junior hockey (plus EHT): U17, U18, second U16 team and of course Youth Olympics tournament. Can't wait.

No Necas, Zelingr, Galvas, Kaut, Kondelik... damn. Plus Zadina will play in the U18 instead, same goes to Kvasnicka. All valuable players for the U17. Hopefully all the less known players step up to fill those holes.

US outshot us 52:18 (crazy) but we still won 3:4 in OT... :D
Too bad I didn't find any highlights, would love to see if the US goalies were really that bad. Also, Vomacka is beast, I am starting to like him more than Skarek.

I read that the US/Russia game tonight will be for the championship. I'll be there for both games today. Sweden plays the Czechs in game 1.

Any thoughts on the US/Russia outcome? I hope it's a well played, fun, close game.

I'm a U of Michigan fan too so I'm excited to see Dylan St. Cyr, Josh Norris, and Quinn Hughes amongst the other names I've read on these boards like Mismash, Maniscalco, Dhooge, etc.

I saw two fun games yesterday. Sweden lost to the Czechs in a shootout and Russia beat the US 5 to 3.

Some kids stood out to me. For the Czechs, the G, Skarek was really solid. The kid who I thought was the best on the ice was Calle Ehrenberg, a Swedish D. The kid is super confident, great with the puck on his stick, skates really well and just oozes talent. He is small, maybe 5'8" or so, but just so talented.

For the US I thought that Jacob Tortora was fantastic. The kid has some wheels, a great handle on the puck and some great moves. Vania Lodnia? Fantastic. I want this kid on my team every day. I also thought that the D, Quinn Hughes really moved the puck well and was solid on D.

Russia? Great team to watch. I didn't get their names but #24 and 8 stuck out to me and their G Zhukov stole the show Saturday night.

What a great day of hockey!!!

Great to hear that Vanya Lodnia played great for the US. The young Erie Otters star in the OHL has a very bright future ahead for himself once a few of those top guys move along and give him an opportunity to shine.

Sucks that the US lost but happy to hear it was some great hockey - overall the future is very bright for the US.
