I don't think this will get any love around here, and would probably be more suited for the Olympic forum... but it does technically say "real" wrestling in the header so we will keep it up.

But ultimately, there might be more conversation in the Olympic forum.

Olympic wrestling was so close to the chopping block. Such a historic sport. Also Kurt Angle came out on TMZ and said wwe wrestlers would get crushed in Olympic wrestling. Chad Gable qualified for the Olympics in 2012 I think.

WWE definitely has Brisco there but, I think many of the wrestlers are going to be pursued with bigger guaranteed offers to join MMA.

Probably, but with the way Gable is blowing up right now I think WWE will be eagerly looking for the next Olympic wrestling recruit. They seem to do well with those guys.

The only thing I know about the Olympics this year is that the kayakers and swimmers will literally be swimming in ****.

This thread still hasn't been moved?

On topic(?), I hope Petra Olli brings home a medal and gets another chance at the Asuka of women's wrestling, Kaori Icho.

Watching this now, there's one American guy with a diesel 80's Tom Selleck moustache in the 75kg division that's doing a great job. His name is Drew Bisek and he's quite good. EDIT: As I post this he gets eliminated LOL.

Anyone else watching this?

I saw a recap of the Danish wrestler celebrating, but the TV was muted. I figured he'd won the whole thing but now I know that was only a semi.

Lost in the finals against a Russian.

Damn, I'd love to watch that 14-7. The Kyrgizian girl is an exciting wrestler, awaiting for a semi against Lera Koblova (who needed 4+ minutes to wake up in the quarters, hehe).
And now Vorobieva decides to score a touche with 3 seconds left, raising MI prevalence in Russia.
And now she'll face Goldberg in the finals.
