So Sparta has the home game against Frölunda. Can we expect 17k+ in attendance?
Fribourg and Vaxjo plays like they dont even care.
I read in czech newspapers that final will be in Goteborg?
Congrats to sparta and their fans
12,136 in attendance? God damn
You guys deserve to play the final
Yeah you're right. The team with most points has the home ice advantage, but I missed that they also add playoff games to the total points. Frölunda has 28 points, Sparta has 25.
I guess Frölunda won't even sell out their backup arena Frölundaborg![]()

Don't kid yourself. That final is going to be sold out. But seeing as the city counsel members are very hostile toward hockey in this city, the final won't be played in Scandinavium.

Is it really the case that they are not able to switch adverts on ice in such a short time or is it just an excuse?
One question I heared that Lakers travelled to Prague on matchday? Is that true? If so, did they even want to win it? I would understand if they gave up in first round but in that stage? Does not make in sense.....
czech article
- prize money are laughable, Sparta would earn 2M CZK (79k USD) if won it.
- CHL has noble name Champions League, maybe ambitions to become no.1 league in EU, but facilities/arenas are terrible. Club dont care, dont want to play CHL, but have to.
There are some positives. The attendance figures are really good outside of Sweden. We have more parity this season in the playoffs.
The CHL final was sold out in a matter of hours, albeit in a smaller capacity arena of 6000. The price money will double(?) each year. The TV rights were renewed for another 6 seasons. The quality of hockey being played is really good. There's no sign of clubs backing out of the tourney Quite the opposite. They are invested in this.
It's slowly heading in the right direction and even the media is starting to warm up toward the tourney, although you can't do much about that ****ing mentally challenged Wennerholm.

Soccer Champions League is succesfull because biggest/best euro countries sell out stadiums for CL, Sweden - as best country on ice in the tournament - is not able to do that.
The decision wasn't Frölundas to make. They wanted to play in Scandinavium but they weren't allowed to.Sure, you will find positives if you really want to.
Dont know who Wennerholm is and what he thinks. Can you elaborate?
lakers11 wrote what this czech media mentioned as one of biggest CHL problems - clubs dont care, not all of course. If you want more money from CHL (TV rights, sponsorship), you need every club to develop arena, lighting, ice, simply coverage of the game. There is one big difference among CHL and KHL - CHL offers their fans all matches at TV, even those in terrible quality. KHL dont, because the league dont want to "look bad" at international stage. Of course KHL broadcast these games at KHL TV & khl.ru, but dont sell them to abroad. It was the case a few years ago, not so often anymore, because almost all arenas have HD equipment now. KHL/Russian local broadcaster use the best equipment for derbies which are broadcasted abroad as well. I dont see this to happen in CHL. Dont know about Sweden, but here in Czech rep clubs wont invest to infrastructure because of CHL.
When Lev Prague played KHL and advanced to the GC Finals, the club moved to big O2 arena for finals (or play off? dont remember, important is that they played in O2 in final), in CHL Final you play in back up arena instead of Scandinavium. Really dumb decision.
Attendance outside Sweden - fine, but Sweden (in CHL) should be soccer England in Champions League. Can you imagine how would soccer Champions League would look like if all english clubs play in front of cca 50% capacity of the stadiums (or in back up one)? Soccer Champions League is succesfull because biggest/best euro countries sell out stadiums for CL, Sweden - as best country on ice in the tournament - is not able to do that. If the product (CHL) is not succesful in main market (SWE), then the product wont be succesful overall.
The new contract also increases the prize money.
Baumann: Right, this increases from season to season. In the sixth year, a total of € 3.7 million will be distributed to the clubs, with the winner receiving around € 720,000.
