based on past sources from olympic and wc it will be very hard to find any highlights that will not get immediately shut down. so stupid....u can find live streams left and right but god forbid u want to watch highlights after the game.

Exactly, the IIHF is posting official highlights on YouTube and has been doing so for the Division I games as well.

However, the commentators on those videos are the worst thing I have ever heard. The IIHF does a good job overall in terms of promoting the sport and such but they should get some better commentators or at least us watch the highlights without them (and without the music).

 Absolutely awful. "USA... gooooaaaaal! Number 23!" (Now let me look that up quickly, who's the player no. 23? Ah, yes:) "Scored by XY!"

You can literally feel those guys have next to zero experience with announcing play-by-play hockey on a regular basis, and it makes me cringe to listen to them. Every year for the Worlds only, IIHF should hire some of the regular NHL announcers and color commentators, from among those teams that didn't make the NHL play-offs that year. If Todd McLellan and Todd Richards and Dan Bylsma can be hired to work for the Worlds temporarily, why couldn't a couple of announcer pairs from the NHL also be hired for the duration of the Worlds?

Shouldn't even be that hard, considering that there are no local broadcasts in the NHL starting with the 2nd round of the playoffs and most of the league is not playing anymore.

Definitely. I love listening to Canadian play-by-play announcers (TSN, I think) during the World Juniors Championships around every Christmas time. They are very knowledgeable and professional even when announcing games not involving Canada or the US. But TSN doesn't carry all games played in the tourney. If IIHF hired announcers with NHL experience, they'd have to ensure that each and every game at the Worlds would be covered.

PS: As an LA Kings fan, I'd love nothing more than to hear Bob Miller and Jim Fox announce Worlds games whenever the Kings are out of contention in the NHL play-offs. (Every season I hope they won't be, but you never know, as the current season showed.) Bob Miller is past retirement age, though, and he probably needs to rest in the off-season, so that's unrealistic. Jim Fox as a color guy with his natural excitement for the game would be great, though. (Some folks can't stand him, but I greatly enjoy his insights.)

And I'd probably stop watching the WHC for the foreseeable future.

You hate them that much? ;) [Ah, Ducks fan! All is clear now.] :D I think they're generally (not just by Kings fans) considered among the best pairings in the NHL.

Anyway, I don't really care which NHL announcers and color guys would be hired by the IIHF – even the worst of them (like, Hayward...) would be an improvement over the parody announcers IIHF uses now. :shakehead

It's been like that for years, every time generating the same derisive comments, yet the IIHF refuses to acknowledge it.
Its always the same guys who seem to be from Finland and sound nothing like pro announcers, at least in English. Nobody even seems to know who they are.

It's crazy to think that they can't find a few college radio guys on the cheap who would love to add this to their resume, or Junior A guys, or maybe some guys who have called hockey for some radio partners of UK Elite League teams.

But they just won't change them. One of them must Kalervo Kummola's aspiring announcer nephew.

Eberle had and an empty net in front of him yesterday after a great passing from Hall and Duchene.

Moves like JAGR - Vs Sweden (VIDEO) - VINTAGE Jagr moves is BACK baby!

How epic would that have been had Jagr scored? I cursed very loudly when it did not go in :D
