The Deutschland Cup is less than a month away, so I think it deserves its own thread now. Held in, of course, Germany, the host nation will be joined by Slovakia, Switzerland, and the United States. I can't speak for everyone, but I know the US roster will be comprised of players in European professional leagues. I wouldn't be surprised if Auston Matthews participates in the tournament. John Tortorella, prepping for the World Cup of Hockey, is coaching.

Given the timing of the last two tournaments' roster announcements, the US should be announcing their roster sometime in the next week.

Anyone have any information on the other participating countries?

With the exception of Cingel, Kukumberg and Marcinko, the rosters exclude players who have signed the national team boycott demanding just system of elections of the president of Slovak hockey federation as well as new elections.

With Tortorella being hired by the Columbus Blue Jackets, USA Hockey will need to replace him. The assistant coach for the team is Craig Johnson, and he could be promoted. But now that Todd Richards is available…

No Ryan Lasch? What's up with that?

EDIT: Anyone know or care to speculate as to why he didn't make the cut?

I'd speculate that he turned down the invite, and is committed to staying healthy and winning with his Swedish team. ;)

Hördler will not be playing in the Deutschland Cup. Jonas Müller will take his place on the roster.

More changes on the German roster.

Goalie Timo Pielmeier and forward André Rankel have been replaced by Mathias Niederberger and Leo Pföderl respectively.
