N Ehlers,O Bjorkstrand are both in for sure and so are M Bödker Hansen and N Jensen
Arizona is already out,im guessing Canucks gonna be out too.

M Green again is the Captain and centers either second or the third line
Poulsen,Jensen and Nielsen are the usual suspects in D,so those are in.

Its gonna be interesting to see does Oliver's brother Patrick make the team.

I think Regin might be out (ottawa is pushing really hard now)
Nielsen is 100% out,Islanders going far this season.

My Wild Card: F Andersen G (Anaheim), Ducks early post season exit?.

Mikkel Bødker will not go. He had his spleen removed, lost 10kg, and is out for the season. There's no way he's coming unfortunately.
Canucks might be playoff bound, but Hansen and Jensen might come late then. Jensen has been awful this season in the AHL.
Regin is just a shadow of himself. Its really sad, but he was just never close to being the same player after his injuries, and his confidence is way down. He was one of the best prospects this country ever produced, so its really a shame. But ofcourse he will go. Hope he can regain some confidence, and he needs to get back to europe to get at least some of his career back.

Patrick Bjorkstrand is a lock. Don't worry about that. His stats in the KHL are misleading, because of the team he played for and the role he had. The fans absolutely loved him. He has played very well at WCs and is part of what was our best line last year.

Denmark Coach Janne Karlsson has said that we would like Ehlers and Bjorkstrand to at least play in Denmark last friendly games before the WC against Germany the 24th and 25th of January.
That should not be a problem with ehlers.
Halifax is in the playoffs, and while they are high scoring, they are a one line team. Can't remember the exact number but ehlers in on the ice for an completely absurd % of the goals scored.
The traded Canada gold winning goalie Zach Fucale, and defenseman Matt Murphy, and the goalie the got in return is just now returning from injury. The might have a chance to make it out of the first round, but they are not in for a long playoff run.
But Bjorkstrand might not be able to make those games since both Bjorkstrand and Portland is on fire. I seriously doubt he would leave him out if only he arrives before the first game at the WC, but im less sure that he would keep a spot open if he can't arrive by then.
I don't have the dates for the playoff, but last year, the 3rd round ended on april 30th, so he might be able to make Denmarks first game on the 2nd of may.
If he makes it to the finals, he won't be in the team.

I don't think Anaheim goes out early, so im not counting on Freddy although I would be pleased.

We are a pessimistic bunch but we could very well be without any players that currently play in the NHL. Worst case we are looking at a team of euros plus a few ahls and Ehlers.

Jensen - Larsen
O.Lauridsen - Kristensen
M.Lauridsen - D.Nielsen
Mads Bodker - S.Lassen

Bodker - Green - Hardt
Storm - Jensen - Christensen
Madsen - Ehlers - O.Bjorkstrand
P.Bjorkstrand - Jakobsen - M.Poulsen
Maegaard Scheel,Spelling

Its a little difficult for me to predict lines since im not updated on how well many of the euros are doing...And there are a few new faces each time.

If Bjorkstrand makes it and but no nhls

my guess for the forwards would be

P. Bjorkstrand - Jensen - Storm
O. Bjorkstrand - Green - Ehlers
Hardt - Madsen - Christensen
Poulsen - Jakobsen - Staal

1st Line: Our consistenly best performing line outside of NHL talent at the last WC, and they have played together in many games outside of the WC

2nd line: Ehlers plays C at halifax at the moment, because they have no good centers, but he is far better on the wing. His started scoring less when he moved to C but kept his production up by adding even more assists. He is scoring more again, but I would like to see a Bjorkstrand-Ehlers line like the WJC, just with a better center than Mads Eller.
Madsen could be an option, or Green or Jakobsen.
Which one is the tough choice. Green has had a terrible season from what I hear, but he is usually a points machine at the WC(14 goals, 36 assists at WCs.) and he is wildly expirienced, a born leader and the captain so I think he will be a good anchor with two so young line mates.

3rd Line:
Good euro line with grid and goals in it.

4th - Decent 4th line.

Everything will usually be very different come tournament time.

That line up would not make the Quarterfinals.

I like to always keep my expectations low. So I always only have two goals. Avoid relegation and try to beat norway..please...just once...

Christensen is injury, Lassen becomes a father....:( :(

Well we haven't exactly been terrifying when our big boys show up... so there's that. This is a depleted Danish team. We will rely on a Storm-Jesper Jensen-Bjørkstrand line that did well last time and has been super in the warm up matches so far. Other then that...The old guys Staal and Green might have to chip in. Morten Madsen, Julian Jakobsen and Nichlas Hardt should do for a hard working line.

On D we really need the Lauridsen brothers(Oliver and Markus, Flyers and Lake Erie) to show up. And Jesper B. Jensen will need to minimize his number of errors cause I'm suspecting he'll play big minutes. He's a hard working, great two way D, but he sneaks in some big mistakes sometimes and has a hot head. The last two things can be said for Oliver Lauridsen to.

Oh... And Patrick Galbraith NEED to have big WC.

So all in all. We need the hard working guys to work hard and have some luck at it. Let's hope we live to see another year.

EDIT: Or at least that's my perspective.

The danish federation have apparantly gotten a good relationship with their South Korean counterparts.

The partnership has been initiated to look ahead to the olympics in 2018. South Korea is as host guaranteed a place in the tournament afaik, so they want as many games against A nations as possible in the next three years.

Galbraith was on fire in Allsvenskan, is he set to be the starter? Could be one of the top keepers if he is still in form.

Galbraith will be the starter without any question as it is know certain that Frederik Andersen and Anaheim has qualified for the next round.
So the big question is more whether Sebastian Dahm has knocked down Simon Nielsen as backup goalie.
Really hope Galbraith can keep his playoff form for Karlskrona into the WC.

Dahm has been outstanding in his two test games this month! Galbraith has to play up to his very best to maintain his position as starting gk.

I am quite sure Dahm will not play in Rødovre next season. He is simply to good for the Danish league. I wonder if an Allsvenskan team would be interested?

Ehlers has declined to play WC this year. Unfortunately seems to be a growing trend among Danish players :(

It's pretty common for all players in the north american system. Remember, they almost play twice as many games in a season as their European counterparts. And travel between games is much further than most European leagues have. It's really not that surprising. Furthermore, it might not have been his decision entirely.

They do not... Remember that the players in europe often plays others games outside the normal serie system, like CL, national team and so on, and if they are young they can double play both in the junior league and the senior team.. All togehter it is probably about the same.

Ehlers has played around 60 games, not that much. Maybe it is a injury?

Either way, to bad, would have been to to see Ehlers.

Ehlers did play in WJC and World Jr.A challenge too.... plus 2 long playoffs series in the QMJHL.... I think he probably need a break...
