- there is communication between Czech federation and Boston about Pastrňák

Im really excited about this tournament, on the other hand Im scared of Přerost and all his preferring "european" players over "NA" players:shakehead

I guess this team could show something, but Im sure all optimism of our fans will be gone after 1st period against Sweden, like always:laugh:

Yes hopefully we will see Pastrnak in the tournament. Silly that NHL could stand in the way for the players playing for the national team.

Damn, so excited about this.. We have great team on paper compared to previous years..

But as was said above, first period with Sweden... kinda know what is going to happen

Please, give me nice christmas holidays this year!!I always miss the beginning of the first match and ussually turn on the TV in third period. In that moment all my hope and excitment is gone...This year must be different:D

I still can't believe we conceded 10 goals to them that one time.....:laugh::laugh:

Pastrnak returned to Providence. But still it doesn't mean much I guess.

a Providence coach, don't remember which, said they were expecting to send Pasta to the WJC a couple of weeks ago before he came up to Boston. Nothing confirmed but I think he'll be going.

thanks for the info, would be huge addition for us

Any idea who is most likely to end up as the starting goalie?

I would say Vaněček has a good chance. He has been solid this season for Benátky (2nd czech league) 15GP 2.09GAA 92,8%SVS, also he is the only of our goaltenders who plays regularly against men. and he had amazing games for czech "20" in November against Russia and Finland

Isnt all players that play in AHL eligble for WJC? So if Pastrnak have been sent down, it is "good" news.

I agree with the others and would project Vanecek to start out of those four. Vladar has potential but is the youngest, while Svoboda and Vejmelka haven't had the best performances internationally, with Vejmelka being in better form of the two.

We can always hope.;) But I dont think that will happen this year. Czech Republic looks very dangerous this year.

Yeah well they played a good game against Sweden in the 4 nations tourney. (Losing 5-3) Apparently Czechs should have taken the game though? And on top of that I think Sweden had most of their better players, as majority of them play in Europe. And Czechs were missing quite a few guys. BUT. Sweden is still the better team overall. Just saying that Czechs will make it tough for them and that it wouldn't be a surprise if Czechs win it.
Is Dominik Masin on the top Defensive pairing on this defensive core?
Well him and Jan Kostalek are the top defensive guys but im not sure if they'll be paired together on the top line. I think Jan Stencel and Kostalek will be the top pairing, as Stencel is a pure offensive defenseman and they both have the most experience. But I can see Masin being on the second pairing with Jakub Zboril maybe.

wondering what Chlapik's chances are to make the team?

Hard to say. He seems like he's having a great season so far but you never know with our coach. I'd say it's about 80/20 that he'll be there though.

Pastrnak confirmed. He will join the team on 21 Dec.
