on a 1 year deal, no he doesn't jump that much. but if you want to lock him up for several years, which includes multiple years that he could be a UFA then the number inches closer to $4 mil.

I have no problem with 4M+ if its a deal longer than 2 years.

Officially? June 30 per Cap Geek.

That's the technical answer. We usually get confirmation from people like Dreger about a week beforehand. So, early next week most likely.

The last two years have been bizarre. Fake cap for 2012 off-season, no actual numbers for 12-13 revenue. Three years ago, Dreger got the number on 6/23. Four years ago, TSN got it out on 6/23. Thursday and Wednesday respectively.

on another note.. Why did we let Dale Weise go? He'd be a great player for our bottom six, who would really fit our team right now.

I don't understand moves like this. we need guys like this in the lineup, I can't think of a comparable player that can join the club from within next season.
we shouldn't have to go outside the organization for bottom six players.

Miller or Fast IMO both can.

I don't remember specifically, but looking at the numbers, 28g/50p/114 pims in 2009 sounded promising.

If they are signed I expect Pouliot to get $1.9-2.2, Kreider to get $2-2.5 on a bridge, Brassard to get $3.9-4.4 on a multi year, and Zucc to get $4.2-4.8 on a longer term (4-5 yrs) deal. FWIW.

Zucc's agent apparently told Norwegian newspapers that he's looking for a 5 year deal worth 22 million.

That's AAV of 4.4 mill. That's his starting point, it would seem like. I expect that to go down marginally to about 4.1/4.2 mill for the same term length.

I assume Zucc is signed before Brassard. After that, if his AAV is 4.2 (for example) I find it hard that a player who had 45 points last year, and has never surpassed 47, can bargain his way to an amount close-to that of a player who is of the same age, on the same line, and producing 60 points... with potential to perhaps even make it to 70.

Brassard's potential is about 15-20 points less than Zucarello. I'd assume negotiations between the two sides start and end with what Zucarello makes and I think Zucarello will make something not only fair but maybe even cap friendly - like McDonagh elected to do last offseason.

Which is why I think Brassard either gets a QO @ 3.7, essentially deferring a decision on him until it is absolutely necessary, or he is traded... perhaps with Staal.

Can we stop with the ROR stuff.. there ZERO rumors about ROR coming to New York

call speculation..

1-he wants a lot of $$$
2-Been reports Avs could shop him because negotiations are prob headed south, and they dont want an offersheet situation
3-they are looking for a "stud defense"

we're in NY buddy.. we are always in the conversation in trades..

There are rumors that the Avs could be shopping him, though. And with us having Jeff Gorton (who loved Bergeron when he was in the Bruins front office), I think the Rangers will be involved in a potential ROR trade.

This! It's no secret that he might become available so we all speculating ... that's what people do in the offseason :)

Nah.

Avs fans weren't too keen on a Staal, most think he'd be too much of a gamble (potentially signing with Carolina). A conditional asset would need to be added, something appetizing, which we don't really have.

I've been saying that a trade of Staal and Kristo would work out perfectly for both teams. I can genuinely see it happening.
