while we're all talking about how good Staal for ROR would be for both teams.. Did anyone happen to realize that if we do that, and God forbid Mactruck gets injured, John Moore becomes our #1 LHD defensive depth is just as important.

Yeah, I did. That's why I said that days ago and have been pushing Stepan+Klein instead of Staal.

Ryan Mcdonagh makes 4.7M and he's an elite defenseman.. Zucc and Brass while had very good seasons have done it once, they should count their lucky stars if they get 4M..

Wouldn't be surprised if they cost $9M altogether. McDonagh's contract is not comparable to theirs at all.

If we were to trade Stepan in a deal for a center (it wont be ROR, they dont need centers lol).. then we would have to sign a #2 center as well. no question

it's entirely feasible that Prasar doon Lee gets his qualifying offer which I believe is 3.7 million dollars. It's also possible that you can get to go she ate it down to 3.5. I see the latter as a long shot however. I think the other salaries are a bit flexible, I don't see why Carcillo should get any more money than he got paid this year, no reason to give moore any more of a raise then a few hundred thousand.

I don't have any problem with giving Brassard his QO.. I just think 4M (espcially if we acquire a top center) for him being the 3C is kinda nuts.. when he hasn't really produced at that rate over his career.. He's been good on the Rangers though so far no question.

McD deserves a much bigger contract. Zucc and Brass has played two very good playoffs and one good regular season. Imo they deserve a 4 mill contract. Nash, Richards, Stepan etc has not been much better and there are few players in Hartford that are rdy. So u pay or struggle for years.

Av Plays four lines, so i dnt think the rangers need a first line center. A first line center would cost to much. We allrdy tried to play With one scoring line and Three crap lines under Torts. It didnt work. Av system Works.

Haha, one of the best autocorrects I've seen

I agree with BB, the salaries do seem kinda low there.

Gotta figure that Poo will not make the same as dom moore at 1.5 mil. In his most recent contract before ours, he made 1.8 for a 32 point season, IIRC. I would think with his good performance this year, he makes at least 1.9.

Furthermore, Zucc, Brass, and Kreider could make slightly more, especially with their playoff performances...so take off maybe at least another 400k. This leaves you with probably somewhere around 800k-ish to work with. And we don't even have a 13th forward, or 7th d on that group....maybe not enough to even work with the team at that rate.

If they are signed I expect Pouliot to get $1.9-2.2, Kreider to get $2-2.5 on a bridge, Brassard to get $3.9-4.4 on a multi year, and Zucc to get $4.2-4.8 on a longer term (4-5 yrs) deal. FWIW.

IF we could pull off Staal + something (prospect/fast/miller) for ROR.. the center depth becomes really good..

re sign Zucc, Kreider, Brassard (ALL RFAs, so that helps), and D Moore, Stralman and lets play this damn season.

It could look something like this.

Zucc goes from 1.15M to 4M+ with one good season?

on a 1 year deal, no he doesn't jump that much. but if you want to lock him up for several years, which includes multiple years that he could be a UFA then the number inches closer to $4 mil.

I think it's been sorta estimated that the cap would be around $69,600,000 or something like that. Whether it really will be that or not, it still makes the whole situation a lot tighter.
