I suggested Iginla weeks ago and everyone **** on it saying he couldn't play LW.

He's exactly what we need on the PP - Big RH shot that can release a ****ing one timer.

Would love it if we could make it work. Don't think it will though.

2 years 7-9 mill depending on how much he wants to help the team?

Would be foolish not to take a deal like that if it was possible (for us).

I still think the Rangers make a push for a Center here. Maybe bring up the count next season also.

Or top 3 lines would look pretty tough to defend against:

LW: Kreider, Hagelin, Nash (to accomodate Iginla)
C: Stepan, Brassard, Miller
RW: MSL, Iginla, Zucc

By my count:

5, 60 + point players
3, 40 + point players
1 rookie who could range from 35-45 points.

More like....

2 60 pt players
4 50 pt players
2 40 pt player
1 30 pt player

Very very few teams have 5 60 point players. Or 8-9 40 point players. That's a lot of goals. Unrealistic. Someone would lose minutes and produce less

How?

MSL, Iginla, Nash - all near locks if they play 82 games. Stepan and Zucc barely missed 60 and will only get better. Steps is trending upwards every year. Zucc had a bad start to the year and would have eclipsed 60 if he didn't have that or the hand injury.

I'd try and sign TJ Galiardi who was just non-tendered. Size and speed. 3rd liner. Pouliot replacement for much cheaper.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Hagelin-Miller-MSL
Zucc-Brass-Iginla
Skille/Carcillo-Moore-Maholtra

Think Lindberg would be better than Malhotra, tbh.

Like the rest of the line up. On board w/ Skille.

They'll play comparable minutes to this year.

1st line 19-20
2nd line 16-17
3rd line 14-15
4th line 8-11

Even if Iginla was free, we're talking about losing 3-4 key players at other positions, and people are suggesting we improve the deepest position on the team.

Come on. It's ridiculous.

Oh please. He offers qualities we don't have.

You can slot Nash or Zucc on the LW.

That's size. A guy to put in the front of the net. A right handed shot. About 25-30 extra points from Poo.

Helps on the power play. Helps display the playoff grit we'll need. Another right handed shot that we sorely lack.

Stephane Robidas is a good hockey player...

...what do the advanced stat people say about him?

Like I said...Move Nash to the LW...he's actually better suited to play LW when he plays with Stepan.

Stepans a right handed center, he favors passing to a LW. Nash is a Left handed player, he can catch those passes even easier playing on his LW. MSL playing on the other side, as a passer, woudl be ideal for Nash AND stepan. Stepan would be most effective playign with a passer on his right side and a shooter on his left. thats why i think Nash should be on the left side if he plays with stepan...if he plays with other centers, then he makes more sense on his off wing.

he's scored 40+ playing hte left side before.

our LW is shallow in part because we have Nash playing on the RW.. He's got over 200 goals in his career playing the LW. I guess we brought Nash in here to play the RW and push Callahan down to the 3rd line when we had both and Gaborik right?

LW - Nash, Kreider, Hags
RW - MSL, Iginla, Zucc
C - Stepan, brass, JT, Moore

Things really went well in '12-13 when the Rangers tried to stack the top of the lineup by playing guys out of position.

More importantly, how the **** are they even going to field a team that even has an inkling of depth if you're paying Iginla on top of everyone else that needs to get paid?

yep, pretty much how id slot it.

your 4th line would have to be VERY young/cheap. carcillo and fasth.

honestly ive liked fasth on the bottom lines, hes a very smart player.

Kreider-Stepan-Nash was so good when they played together, it would be ridiculous to break them up and gut our bottom six to add Iggy to the 2nd line.

I like Iggy. Wouldn't have minded him years ago. Now is not the time to get him.

If he loves LW so much, why was Gaborik the sacrificial lamb that went to LW when they were both on the same line?
