What? He led the Bruins in goals in the playoffs. The Bruins didnt play well overall as a team. Iginla played well. Not sure what you were watching.

Yes, but for what it's worth, my Penguin fan friend remembers him being unimpressive the season before in the playoffs (4 goals in 15 games). I'd still take him over Nash.

just give Moore the 1.6 he wants.. then use Carcillo (850K) and another guy on the right and your 4th line is still cheap.

Let's say we have a budget of 3.5 mill for all of our 4th liners.

Linberg .6 mill
Moore 1.5

Leaves 1.4 mill allocation for a decent 4th liner.

There will be a value guy who's worth more than 1.4 that will sign with us for that amount and play there. Sather pulls out rabbits when he dumpster dives.

Iginla @ 4.5.
Kreider @ 1.85 - Paccioretty contract hurts him.
Zucc should get a long term contract.
Brassard the QO.
Moore @ 1.4.
Erhoff @ 3.5.

I like Bourque for one of those winger spots honestly.

Faynes numbers don't look that good away from Greene, so I'm skeptical to any team that gives him 4mil.

I was watching. Do you only pay attention to goals? Sure, Iginla still has a scorer's touch, but he's slow and needs to be spoonfed chances. Not to mention his shot % was unsustainably high last playoffs, way higher than his regular season and career numbers.

He also played sheltered minutes. He's going to cost way too much to sit on our 3rd line while we're up against the cap.

I would too....10 years ago.

Not only is he ANOTHER right wing, but building a team based on how you remember a player is unacceptable.

Yes, please tell us of the mythical solutions you would like the Rangers to strive for to improve.

Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie

Honestly, I'm completely fine with that. Sign Erhoff to replace Stralman, Sign a fill in finisher to replace Poo, and Replace Boyle with Bourque...

Signing moore is the only imperative thing at this point given the cost.

He's a RW..but Nash not only has played LW before, I'd argue he'd be more effective playing with Stepan playing on the other side. Especially with a guy like MSL on the other side, or maybe even Zucc.

Right handed centermen almost always favor their LW.

LOL. Cause Im the one giving mythical solutions.

You're the one thats had a different plan every day since the season ended.

Im in the camp of being realistic. Looking at the holes in the lineup and the cap space/assets available, its going to be really difficult to improve. I'd flip the **** out if they went after a declining player like Iginla or D. Boyle. Thats just about the worst thing they can do.

I agree with this. Ehrhoff, IMO should be priority #1 as far as UFA's. Dominic Moore is #2

Thats a massive downgrade.

It would suck to see Pittsburgh grab Pouliot.

Actually. I'd love that.

Poo didn't play well until he was paired up with Zucc.

He has never lived up to his top 6 draft day ambitions and I think that he'll absolutely tank away from Zucc...

Unless of course they put him on a line with Crosby, which I think would be absolutely out of the question.

My plan has remained the same.

Try and resign the key cogs that are free agents. Trade Staal to maximize value if you can retain Stralman. Improve.

I could see them putting him with Malkin. Unless they overpay for him, maybe 3x3 and I would be okay with it

You probably thought the same about Pascal Dupuis as well.

Moore should be completed today... no reason not to give him the max he's asking for for 3 years. $2M for a 4th liner is the max I'd pay out for that spot, but the fact that Moore can slot onto the 3rrd or 2nd lines in a pinch makes it completely worth the additional cost. Put some competent wingers on his line and he can still make **** happen

I liked Pascal. Was sad to see him go. Was a fun and energetic 4th liner to watch when he played with us.

I did not like when he left.

Just as I didn't like when Parenteau was ousted by Torts. Or when Korps was traded for ****ing Enver Lisin.
