We still have Hank, Girardi, Stepan, McDonagh...all guys that are leaders or becoming leaders. MZ is important in the locker room. Brass, too.

I do worry about that, but I think we'll be fine.

I still don't know why we just don't give Dom Moore the $1.5-1.8M he wants. It seems so crazy.

Jamie McBain wasn't qualified by the Sabres. Right shot. Badgers connection with the Rangers.

Was even McDonagh's partner for a while.

I'd be interested for sure. I liked McBain's game in his rookie year with Carolina, but apparently his stock has fallen tremendously.

Sounding like #Flames will use compliance buyout on Shane O'Brien. He owed 2.2M for 2014-15 #NHL season.

just one of many guys that are likely done in the NHL. Free Agent list stinks

Reading Fayne to NYR if Stralman doesnt come back. Going to be some turnover in the next few days

I'd rather Erhoff.

Swap Hagelin and Iginla.

We have no room to call people up/deal with injuries.

The Rangers found Stralman on the scrap heap and he gave them 3 years of service. McBain could give them the same bang for their buck. Samuelsson works with him. Unless the Rangers are willing to commit a really good contract for even someone like Fayne they aren't getting the player.

Maybe. McBain is already older than Stralman was at the time. Plus, Stralman gained a ton of confidence playing in a system that's easy for defensemen to execute. The Rangers current system is not.

Logic doesn't necessarily mean that the comparables have to be identical.

It does in this case.

Unless you think stockpiling young forwards that might be able to fill the 3rd line center spot is on the same plane as stockpiling players the caliber of Getzlaf/Malkin. Your response was an absurd non-sequitur.

Why dont you get a GM on the horn and start comparing JT Miller to Malkin - see if you could get a word in edge wise before they hang up on you.

What happened to John Moore?

(Who btw is perhaps the most underrated Ranger on here. He's 23-24, skates like the wind and is still developing and learning at the NHL level. Since when are 23/24 year old d-men finished products?

Moore is a good enough #6, and I hope he develops further. But right now, I think his skating is - by far - his best attribute.

..which is a pretty great attribute to have.

You can teach defensive positioning, stick-work. You can practice breakout passes. You can attempt to play more physical.

You can't teach a player how to skate like that at this level.

Biggest concern for me going into next season is going to be the dynamic in the locker room, not so much the talent on paper.

No more Richards.
No more Boyle.
no more Moore.

By all accounts, three very important guys in the locker room. A very tight locker room.

More important, 3 centers. We desperately need centers
