I don't really think that Corsi is a better way to look at a player than watching the player. I'll look at the stats, but in a team sport, watching the player is exponentially more important. Stats surfing just doesn't get the job done.

Wasn't Art Howe the guy who used only advanced stats and had a computer and made judgments off of it when he managed the Mets and Oakland?

Mats Zuccarello said today that he wants the Rangers to remain competitive so he won’t “push” his salary to the maximum and it’s more important to him to be locked up in a long-term deal and that the Rangers can challenge for the Stanley Cup every year. (Nettavisen)
Love this guy..

I'd be absolutely SHOCKED if Duclair comes in and earns a spot. He has no where to go but 3LW. They're not gonna plug him on the fourth line, obviously. Can he beat out Hagelin and Kreider for top-6 minutes? Doubt it.

It would be fantastic for this team if he can come in and do it, but again, I'd be beyond shocked.

I know little to nothing about him beside what I read, and what I read is that he's a fast mother****er.

I'd care to even estimate that after a performance like last year's, he'll regress a little, tempering our expectations of him. :(

There's always a chance he has a great summer and camp. makes the squad and is overmatched, gets a taste and then goes back to Juniors prior to his 10 game limit for his ELC to kick in.

It's really hard to predict how a player matures during the off-season when they are young. Duclair might make a huge stride, mentally, in the off-season. It's why Gorton says what he did.

There is some truth I suppose to the fact that this off season is an opportunity for AV to further mold this team.

But to suggest that opportunity won't be SEVERELY hampered by the cap crunch and lack of assets we own is purely looking at it from a silver lining perspective.

AV may want a diff team, may want to upgrade at center and offensively beef up the D but that's like walking into Ruth's Chris with 5$ and wanting a ribeye.

Biggest concern for me going into next season is going to be the dynamic in the locker room, not so much the talent on paper.

No more Richards.
No more Boyle.
no more Moore.

By all accounts, three very important guys in the locker room. A very tight locker room.

Wings **** all over pizza.

Also, I would like Komarov for the 4th. I think someone will overpay, however.

I guess it depends on the type of wings and type of pizza.

Mild wings v. bacon/pepperoni pizza with a cheese stuffed crust? Or blazin' buffalo vs. vegetable pizza?

Agree to disagree....

Louder voices for McDonagh, Stepan... and essentially MSL.

Have their been any official rumors about the front office shopping Staal? Or just speculation?
