I would like to think that they're there to field offers of draft picks for the negotiating rights to players like Stralman and Boyle.

It would make sense, anyways.

Would be nice to get some sort of return if they don't intend to sign some of them.

That's what I was hoping for. Carcillo does essentially the same job for less. And he also doesn't land us a pick.

So why didn't AV just play Carcillo over Dorsett in the playoffs?...coach/GM not on the same page...?

Carcillo played a lot of the games he wasn't suspended.

Maybe AV slightly preferred Dorsett if he had to choose, but I'd say it wasn't 800k of space and a 3rd round pick's worth of preference, at least not in Sather's mind.

We don't even have Carcillo under contract

That's true. The Larry Brooks quote suggests it might be a consideration to re-sign him.

If they do sign Carbomb, it's decent asset management. If they don't, 3rd for Dorsett in a bubble still isn't an awful deal, provided they find a replacement.

Yeah, I think it's great asset management, but only if they bring back Moore. Use that 1.6 and sign Dom Moore immediately.

Probably.

I trust the source, but it's in the "too good to be true" category, so unless proven wrong I tend to assume it won't be.

Could you at least be like Boomer and drop a hint.

I mean I dont think dropping the rumor on here would make much difference to be honest, but thats your call.
