Hate Ribeiro as a player anyway. Would not be happy to see him in Ranger garb.

I hate him but I hated Carcillo before he came over, too. Goals have a great way of mending relationships. Ribeiro and MSL on the same line seems like it would work.

Rumors were that it was more substance abuse issues than anything with Ribeiro, but rumors are rumors not necessarily fact.

e: might stem from him being arrested for public intoxication in the past.

I was able to resign all of the FA's reasonably w/ about 1 mill to spare.

To me, that means getting rid of Dorsett and Pouloit and signing Carcillo/playing a prospect in their places.

Trading J. Moore in place of Allen frees up about another .7-1 mill.

What about Jack Skille as this year's Benoit Pouliot?

Former first round pick. Good size. Crazy good speed. Hasn't found a way to really put it all together at the NHL level. A RWer, I wonder if he can play LW. He'll come cheaper than Benny and probably look at a one year deal rather than 2 or 3.

27 years old. 4 goals in 16 games with the Blue Jackets last year. Played mostly with Dubinksy and Johansen in the playoffs, and we heard nothing but good things about that line matching up against Crosby. On the other hand, his Corsi does leave a lot to be desired.

Made $675K last year. Throw a year and $800K his way, and see what we can make of him. Either he can click with Zuccs and Brass, or we stick him on the fourth line with Malholtra and Moore

Do understand this. I think it's possible he'll get over it? Masterton finalist. Refound a new style in Carolina. He's proven to be a capable NHL player again after his eye injury.
