Roy needs to play Wilshere and Barkley over Wellbeck and Henderson (why he is even playing is nuts).

Suarez about a yard offsides on that goal.

I'd be livid if I was English

Well, Gerrard headed the ball. Still I thought they changed it before the season that inadvertent passes from defenders are still offside. Have seen these not given still.

Oh, he did? I'm streaming online in a very small "inconspicuous" window at work, so it's likely I just missed that

Not sure about that rule, either.

he was onside when muslera punted the ball though so regardless of if it was inadvertent pass by the defender (gerrard)

I re-read the rule and I think it's still the moment when the pass is made that counts. And in that moment Suarez was onside, so it's a good goal.

Uruguay = Montreal Canadians of soccer.

So much diving...

Uruguay have always been known as divers. Sturridge and his counterparts on England, on the other hand, are embarrassing themselves.

I hate Uruguay and I wish England won that game, but still, laughable from both sides

As usual, Suarez takes the cake though. God it's pathetic this guy is a face of the sport. He is just a terrible person to root for.

He's the Crosby of football

The success of the Premier League has really hurt the English national team.. so sad.

Just because you have the best league in the world, does not mean you will have the best national team in the world. The NHL is a great example ;)

Here in Holland, the so-called experts always say USA is the big favorite at the Olympics for the gold medal in hockey "because the NHL is mostly American teams". Little do they know, not even half of the players are US-born.

Same with the Premier League. The biggest issue is, that the big players of the clubs, are not even English. Besides Gerrard and Rooney, none of their players are elite at club level.
