What I could do is take two points for every win I'm assuming we get from every team we face. I'll do that in a little bit.

Edit - After doing that, I don't think this would be a smart idea.

Suggestions? Wait for the thread on the main NHL board done by Mayor Bee. Far more comprehensive, accurate and interesting. (not trying to dog on your effort here. some people aren't aware of the main board thread every year, but it's great. I'm surprised it isn't up yet [apparently, look for it within a week])

Of course, you know that... since you referenced it when you put up the thread in our section last year.

I'm dogging your effort, Parker. I am.
You have time to redeem yourself though ;)

This doesn't matter until T-10 games.

He said he's posting it around April 1st.

His threads are interesting, and he normally posts the actual scenarios later on, just like how I will when it gets closer.

This thread will be more based on the Rangers and not the entire league like how he has it. I'll also update it much more frequently, since he sometimes goes a day or two. He also sometimes takes longer to respond to everyone's questions, since it caters to the entire HF, instead of here, where this is for Ranger fans.

Now after looking at my thread from last year, it seems as if you were into "having the thread here for once." I'm not sure what's changed. I'm fairly confident in saying that I'm just as accurate as Mayor Bee, so what's the difference between this thread and the one from last year?

I don't.

I think we match up better with Boston than we do with Winnipeg - and Winnipeg on home ice in the playoffs? No thanks.

Depends who wins the Northeast. I agree that Boston is a better matchup for us than Winnipeg, but I want absolutely none of Montreal :pout:

That was about clinching either the President's Trophy or the first seed, which is the same info on Mayor Bee, but actually applies to a rare situation for our organization. "Having the thread" wasn't referring to having a magic number thread at all, but about that specific topic. This is about just making the playoffs, where a lot more is actually at stake and knowing the same info for the teams around us is more useful.

What he does is post every team's magic number. If you only care about the Rangers magic number, like the purpose of this thread, you don't need "the same info" for the other teams. You just need what I have posted in the OP. If you want to stay away from this thread and only look at Mayor Bee's thread, feel free to do so.

We're gonna walk into Montreal, and beat the **** out of them. Hank's gonna get the demons off his back, and playign in Montreal will be a none factor.

If the Rangers go 16-0-0 the rest of the way, and the Penguins go 7-7-0 the Rangers will win the division.

Oh what do you know? My magic number for the Rangers was accurate all along..

For those of you who like Mayor Bee's thread on the Main Boards, he just posted it.
