Prospect Criteria for the purposes of this poll mimics the ‘Hockey’s Future’ Prospect Criteria: If a prospect is a skater (forward, defenseman) and has played in 65 NHL games or more before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday; or, if a goaltender has played in 45 NHL games before the completion of the season of his 24th birthday, that player will be considered graduated to the NHL. Conversely, if a player completes the season of his 24th birthday without passing those milestones, then that player will no longer be considered a prospect by Hockey’s Future, regardless of the player’s status with his NHL club.

My goal is to have these polls run for 48 hours each and to extend through the top 25 prospects as per hfboards.

When you vote, PLEASE ADD SOMEONE FOR THE NEXT POLL. All the Islanders prospects are listed above!

Jake Bischoff added to poll.

John Persson wins the poll for #19 Prospect. Highlight film worth watching for the nifty behind the back give and go with Brock Nelson against the Whale.

Ness has the highest trade value out of the lot. Although, I think this is Ness' final shot at making the big club.

I don't know why people are choosing VCR over Cammarata. The most recent picks are the easiest to rank as their draft order pretty much is the weight of their trade value.

I like VCR, he has a cool name and all, looked good in the prospect scrimmage, but I really don't see how he's ahead of a couple of the names left.

I think a lot of people will be surprised with Robbie Russo. Maybe college hockey is a little more low key, but he is the type of smooth defenseman that I just love to watch. Has two more years left at ND, maybe once he turns pro he can finally gain some exposure.

I have a hard time believing there are 15 players ahead of where Poulin, Petrov, Ullstrom and Persson are - but maybe the Islanders have the best prospects in hockey history? :)

Great highlight reel ITM, on ALL the prospects - best NYI coverage out there!

Persson seems to play a pure NHL-style grinding game - reminds me of Anders Lee and how he scored goals in the NCAA. They seem like similar players with similar strengths (drive the net, good hands and offensive instincts) and weaknesses (skating, foot speed/agility)

I haven't seen Persson play more than 1-2 times but I'd guess Lee has better vision and hockey sense than Persson but how would you (or anyone who's seen both) describe their games/similarities?

I suppose we'll find out soon enough in Bridgeport.

Persson's TWO YEARS younger than Lee, by the way. Sometimes we get the impression that a player already in Bridgeport is older than one who's yet to play in the NHL.

I find it surprising that Lee is 8th and Persson's 19th - frankly, I don't expect Lee to outscore Persson in the AHL this year. But we shall see.

Well, about Persson..TBH, he just came out of obscurity 1.5 years ago. People just started talking about him and the goal numbers he was putting up in juniors. Then 1 year of BP under his belt..he still did relatively ok. Up until then, no one really heard of him.

Anyway, I think Persson would be a better player IF he started with the big club now only because he has had a year to acclimate to the Isles system. Lee has more years of play experience, but not as a pro, so other than learning our system and getting used to it, he also needs to learn to play against pros.

I like Russo. I think he's a promising talent. I unfortunately don't think he'll play for the Isles if he ever becomes an NHL player. I just feel we have too many D prospects that I'd take over him.

Voted for McAdam. Just a hunch, but my gut tells me he's going to turn out to be pretty good.
