If you ask MSG about this they will say that the tickets are released later because they are on hold for various players, sponsors, the NHL, etc. That may be the case for some tickets, but it's obviously not the whole story.

What is the whole story. The upper bowl is basically sold out and there is just not much inventory left. This is the reason many get Seasons

you might think so but they hold back substantial numbers of locations for individual sales. The obstructed back 2 rows in the 400s for example are about 95% sold on a per game basis, only a handful are sold on a season basis

The Rangers overplay the seasons thing like crazy. Again, I moved from the lower bowl into the upper bowl for the playoffs. Got the exact seats I wanted, a pair in the lower half of the upper bowl, dead center ice.

There's no way there is only 10 individual tickets for sale. The upper bowl is not all seasons either. That is a complete myth. The Rangers make more money off individual tickets then seasons. They always hold back. This has been going on for years.

Off hand, has anyone heard if MSG will be having viewing parties at the Garden for the road games? I went back in 2012 for the ECF against the Devils. It wasn't as good as when they did it back in 94 but it'll be a fun environment to watch the games. And the new scoreboard will make it a great viewing experience.

Does anyone have an idea when these extra ticket releases are planned to occur? I always read about them after the fact, well after they've all been sold. Thanks.

I think GG is spot on with what he said. I think you'll see a lot of tickets suddenly hit Ticketmaster once they decide to dynamic pricing (raise the prices) after the opponent and schedule is set.

I went too and thought it was pretty cool. The worst part was it was absolutely brutal watching the game on the old scoreboard but it'll be a million times better with the new scoreboard if they do do it again.

I went on TM right at noon and somehow got a single for home game 2 at the very top of 224 for $210.

Regarding releasing tickets later, they released a bunch of tickets for game 6 of Pens series right after game 5 ended. Most were in lounges 300 section (where I got 2 for $193 each) and the upper corners of 200s and lower bowl. Might have been some scattered 400s as well. What struck me at the time was there were two almost complete rows available in the row 6-10 range of section 227. I'd buy those for the season in a heartbeat.

Also, I think Rangers Twitter account is best place to hear quickly that they're putting more tix on sale.

I saw somewhere that it will be an early Saturday game. Not sure if it is confirmed yet.

It would be very strange if the time and date of a 3rd round game had been confirmed, when you don't even know who the home team will be, and you don't know when round 2 will be over in the west.

There's an excellent chance game 4 will be next Saturday Night. NBC has a network slot for hockey that night and you know they will want the Rangers for that game.

I spoke to someone at The Garden today and they told me that they had heard the first game of the series would not be until Sunday but frankly they weren't very sure.

Guessing (hoping) Thursday/Saturday. That's how I booked flights.

Stanley Cup playoffs: NY Rangers will play Game 1 of Eastern Conference finals on Saturday afternoon
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, appearing on WFAN Wednesday morning, said Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals will be Saturday afternoon. The game will be either in Boston or Montreal.

As for the start time, Bettman said it will likely be 1 p.m., but “don’t hold me to that.”

A 1 p.m. start makes sense since NBA will also telecast the Preakness Stakes Saturday afternoon, with pre-race coverage slated to begin at 4 p.m.

Rangers getting bumped for a horse race?

Sounds about right.

Google knows this now (not sure where they pulled it from):

Sat, May 17 Rangers @ Canadiens 1:00 PM

Mon, May 19 Rangers @ Canadiens 8:00 PM

My flight leaves at 7 on Saturday. I'll actually be able to see a game! And i should also be back in time for game 6 if it gets that far so I can go to 1 too!

someone said on main boards that ron maclean reported that game 3/4 is thurs/sat not sure how true that is
