late borns

I think that all these late '89s playing very well: McCullom, Joshua Bailey (another OHL guy who's well over a PPG), Boychuk and others, will fall in the rankings as the 90-borns gets better and makes big strides. You see it in every draft, and I think that you'll have to have that on mind while making rankings.
I'm not saying these players are bad or worse than the others 'cause their a bit older, but it's just that they'll fall of a bit. In this past draft, late 87's like Kessel, Joensuu dropped in the rankings during their draft year, and in this year, we're seeing L88's dropping, like Hamill who was among the best '07 eligibles point wise last year (and is so this year too), but this year when all 89's has grown and matured, he've been passed by quite a few, even though he has produced well.

With this said, however I can't say I haven't been impressed by the likes of Boychuk and McCullom.

sauve plays with the saint john seadogs

Boychuk

Zach Boychuk will not be a first rounder, let alone #3 overall in NA. He is 5'8 and there aren't too many 5'8 inch players drafted in the first round at all, let alone the Top 3 picks. Boychuk can be best described in terms of points to a Zach Hamill, both put up great point totals but size alone will drop them far in the rankings to late first for Hamill and 2nd or 3rd round for Boychuk. Hamill atleast is "listed" at 5;11 which helps his cause a touch. I agree with Teubert, Schenn, Beach up there though.

Interesting ranking little surprise to see sauve no1 but he his top5 sure bet

I personally think he's still number one, at this point, anyways. I'm really high on this kid, and although he hasn't been overly impressive to begin the year, I still he can be better, and hopefully he starts justifying my choice.

Him and Boychuk are pretty much interchangable right now. As I've already argued in favour of Sauve, and I don't think Stamkos will jump ahead of Doughty, Number three is fair enough. Another kid who I really like right now is Luke Schenn out of Kelowna. Has had a solid start to the year IMO.

Got the city half right. It's Saint John, not St. John.

I like Doughty myself out of the players I've seen. Phil McRae has the skill but hasn't yet put it all together.

Oh, sorry, my geography isn't really up to scratch haha. McRae is a top notch talent, I completely agree, but I just can't see him putting it all together this year or the next. He'll still go first round I think, but if he puts it all together he'll be a top-five pick for sure IMO.

You forgot a couple of players which may surprise a lot of scouts,

1. Maxime Sauvé Quebec Remparts
2. Philippe Cornet Rimouski Oceanic
3. Kelsey Tessier Quebec Remparts

No, I didn't forget them. All three could very easily sneak in to the top five. It's early right now though, so this list is subject to change at any time...
