Here's what was removed from the article because we are supposed to only write about the team's present prospects that were picked by our team not the trades:
It's what I wanted to know about what happen to the other picks we traded and who the other teams picked with our draft selections. I couldn't remember everything from 2008 so I researched it to let you the readers remember as well. It was meant to fill in the gaps of why the Habs had only five picks in 2008 instead of the full seven. In previous years, we tell you about how the teams added extra selections so I felt you needed to the opposite.
No selection - 1st Round, 25th overall (Greg Nemisz, RW)
Status: Traded to the Calgary Flames on June 20, 2008 along with Montreal's second-round pick in 2009 (Stefan Elliott, D) for Alex Tanguay and the 5th round 138th-overall pick in 2008 (Maxim Trunev).
NHL Games Played: Greg Nemisz has played only 15 NHL games with the Calgary Flames and is currently playing at the AHL level for the Abbotsford Heat. Calgary traded the Canadiens' second round pick to the Colorado Avalanche who selected Stefan Elliott, 49th overall in 2009. The mobile defenseman played 39 NHL regular season games with the Avalanche at the end of last season.
No Selection, 5th Round, 146th overall (Jason Demers)
Status: Montreal traded this selection to the San Jose Sharks along with Craig Rivet on February 25, 2007, in exchange for Josh Gorges and a first-round pick in 2007 Draft (Max Pacioretty).
NHL Games Played: Demers has played 183 NHL regular season and 31 Stanley Cup playoff games for the San Jose Sharks.
No Selection - 6th Round, 176th overall (Matthew Tassone)
Status: Canadiens traded this pick to the Dallas Stars on September 30, 2006, along with Mike Ribeiro in exchange for Janne Niinimaa and a 5th round draft pick in 2007 (Andrew Conboy).
NHL Games Played: Matt Tassone was a bust prospect for the Dallas Stars and was released. He is now playing in the Central Hockey League for the Arizona Sun Dogs after two seasons in the ECHL.
