I'm a Sabres fan from Ithaca (where Dustin Brown is from). Having watched a lot of both Vanek and Brown I can confidently say I'd take Brown higher in a draft. Points aren't everything - Dustin Brown is also the NHL's all time career hits leader and captained his team to two cups.

I went with Brown. Richards, Vanek, Eriksson, Phaneuf probably all peaked higher, but their peaks were short lived.

Went with Corey Crawford. But there's lots of options here.

I'm wondering when Phaneuf should go. Public opinion of him is low because he was an overpaid Maple Leaf. But he was a fantastic player, if you're being objective.

His peak would be somewhere in the top 8 - 10 imo. He was a legit franchise defenceman for a while.

I'd take Crawford here, a good starting goalie should be more important than a middle six winger to a hockey team. I'd take Vanek, Richards, Phaneuf, Enstrom, and Backes before Brown.
