These are merely speculations. Let's say if one of these trades were to happen the other one doesn't happen. Which player (for his trade price and cap hit) would you rather have, and who would be involved in a trade for either of these players going to Montréal. (Nichushkin is still an RFA, how much do you think his cap hit will be and how long?) Obviously Montréal would have to clear some cap space, that is a no brainer.

-Ryan Nugent-Hopkins to Montréal

-Valeri Nichushkin to Montréal

Montreal has nothing of value to offer the Oilers for RNH

RNH has been discussed plenty enough, we don't really need him. Galchenyuk is our 1st center, Plekanec our 2nd. Surely we wouldn't move assets to put RNH on 3rd line or even 2nd if we moved down Plekanec. And we are stacked with center prospects and roster... Meanwhile Oilers need RNH and won't trade him anyways.

Nichuskin however, it has been discussed before but I don't remember the Stars' asking price.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins we don't need plus why would we overpay for a 2nd line center.

Nich would be a welcome addition if the price wasn't to high.

Beaulieu would be a fair return.

But Dallas fans want to package Nuke for a top pair LHD.
