Same. It was so unlike myself, but I just knew the Rangers would f*** up my night on Thursday, and it pissed me off.

I can't remember the last time I've seen such a change in performance. Especially defensively. Last game it looked like they never played D before. Only other game I remember like this was a 3-1 win against the Kings during our horrible start in 2014. We played amazing D that game but every other game during that stretch we were terrible.

Georgie was excellent from puck drop.

Buch looked terrific. Lafreneire already looks super comfortable, Miller looked more comfortable and Kakko looked good. Glad he got a goal, Quinn needs to get him more involved. He needs more than 10 minutes. Get him on PP2.

JJ was invisible which is best case scenario with him. Brendan Smith looked good.

Strome looked terrible. Howden should not be on the PP.

JJ kept it simple, really, and played stay at home, letting Fox carry. He kept the puck moving, didn't try to over handle. Had a little bit of trouble on the PK. One good play I remember from him was on the PK, he tipped a pass to spring Kreider for a shorthanded rush.

I agree. If you look at the old eye test, I think he made the most mistakes.

I thought Kreider was quiet but not actively bad and Zibanejad had a nice assist. You can have a bad night with analytics over one game without doing anything wrong.

Also, we destroyed them. Even if everyone's good, somebody has to be at the bottom. To that same point, Kakko sitting at the top of a pile of gold is good

.
Kreider hasn’t scored but he had been great in the PK. He has also opened up space for others like Buch. Mika looked much better although faceoffs are still an issue. Strome is the one who just looks awful

The individual analytics came in. Kreider and Zibanejad were our worst players so I'm chalking that up to whatever.

You know who led the team in xGF%?

Kaapo Kakko
If he's engaged he's an advanced stats nightmare for the opposition. Has been since his draft year.

I still don’t understand why so many were freaking out about Kakko. He hit the NHL at 18 and honestly wasn’t out in the best situation as far as linens red and also was getting used to the NHL. I thought he looked good in the Carolina series and Game 1 I did t think he looked bad either. I think fans gotta be patient with him, Laf, and miller. They are all kids learning the ropes

Because Jack Hughes put up a few points in sequences where he didn't really influence the play.

Georgie, and the entire team played very well defensively. The actual D units played very well. Smith, Johnson, Trouba, “the scapegoats”, they all played quite well.

He had trouble with conditioning last year, and I think there's a bit of a learning curve because he's used to dominating, and he has to work for it a bit at this level.

I don't see it at all with Lafreniere. He looks like he's been in the league ten years.

Everyone expected him to come in looking like Laf. That was obviously unfair expectations. Like even the guy picked ahead of him struggled. Laf is just a tier above them as a prospect, he looks legit.

We should go top heavy on our first line.

Panarin — Zibanajed — Lafreniére
Kreider — Strome — Kakko
Gauthier — Chytil — Buchnevich
Lemieux — Howden — Di Giuseppe

I want Laf and Kakko to get every chance to succeed and gain confidence right off the bat. That’s a deep offense.
