Trouba played like a $8M defenseman. Good to see him take some bombs from the point. That cannon's an asset, use it well. Think having two different looks on the PP is a competitive advantage. Hope they keep it up.

Even the mid-game adjustment to swap the LH-RH shot from Buch to Strome paid off. Line matches, getting the Chytil unit out after sheltering them a bit. This was a much better coached game.

First time in how long that he's been paired with a good defenseman?

I love Fox.
I should have voted for him. Dang. But really, so many guys were good. I gave Smith some love. He is the perfect bottom pair D aside from the penalties. Miller was good too. He’s showing flashes. And he’s not trying to do too much. He’s playing safe. He’s like a smart version of Brady Skjei.

Lindgren is incredible, I dont think his style will be able to hold up over time, but he is an animal. He will do all the dirty work and plays a smart game. This guy puts it all out there every game.

one to one comparisons are utterly useless, but i'll throw one out for fun....left handed mike sauer?

make sure that chinstrap is buckled ryan....

I will say, Miller looked night and day more comfortable out there. Not surprising of course.

I questioned if he was ready after game 1, he looked the part tonight.

Just wait until he gets more experience under his belt.

His problems are really more geared towards trying to do too much which we've seen in both of these games, but he also stepped up in the NZ and intercepted a pass which none of our other D would have done.

I cannot wait to see the player he is when hes 23-24.

Kakko having an amazing night makes me feel a lot better about the thing I was complaining about yesterday
I still don’t understand why so many were freaking out about Kakko. He hit the NHL at 18 and honestly wasn’t out in the best situation as far as linens red and also was getting used to the NHL. I thought he looked good in the Carolina series and Game 1 I did t think he looked bad either. I think fans gotta be patient with him, Laf, and miller. They are all kids learning the ropes

I would swap Chytil with a Strome but that third line was very solid tonight

If Panarin gets going I assume Strome will be able to leech off him so maybe keep things as is for now

Honestly I thought everyone looked good besides Strome
I agree. If you look at the old eye test, I think he made the most mistakes.

I thought Kreider was quiet but not actively bad and Zibanejad had a nice assist. You can have a bad night with analytics over one game without doing anything wrong.

Also, we destroyed them. Even if everyone's good, somebody has to be at the bottom. To that same point, Kakko sitting at the top of a pile of gold is good.
