NY Rangers = America's Team
Buchnevich’s second goal, haven’t seen a wrister like that since the great Erik Christensen.
It was Pirri-esque

All good mate. I’m in my 30s and discovered hockey in ‘97, at the time living in Florida of all places, so I may have missed that part of Malakhov’s career. ESPN, Dennis Potvin (the color guy at the time on the Panthers broadcasts), and the NHL video games. Then the internet changed everything.i aged myself a bit there lol
Man, that felt nice and cleansing.
Buch has come a long way. Man it’s fun to watch him these days. His all-around game is just so much better right now.
Zibanejad can turn nothing into something so quickly. He’s filthy dangerous.
Howden just continues to impress me thus far. He’s playing with decisiveness and aggressiveness and that’s giving him that extra edge he needs to play the type of role he was designed for.
Don’t underestimate Kakko’s competitiveness - whether it’s with Hughes from his draft class, or Lafreniere on the Rangers. He kept his legs moving tonight, got rewarded with a goal and this is exactly what he needs to do to be successful.
I love Lindgren. Dude always looks like he’s been through a war. He always looks surly and I never have any doubts about his will to battle and win.
Miller came in with the mindset that he belongs. He didn’t show them too much respect and it showed tonight. Wonderful to see.
If Kreider keeps playing like this on PK, I don’t ever want him coming off.
Strome is playing like he needs to visit a proctologist to find his head.
He floats a lot trying to make himself open, but I can think only of one great player who made a living off that playing style: The Russian Rocket. And he had speed, acceleration, agility, shot, vision and even strength that Kakko doesn’t begin to approach. So yeah ... KK needs to come back to reality and realize he needs to do some dirty work.Great effort from the boys tonight. Still want to see more from Kakko though. Honestly, if it wasn't for the hard work of his linemates, he never would have had that opportunity to score. I think it is time to see Kakko do the dirty work for a change. Close on opponents, force turnovers, win battles. Am I asking for too much? I think with his rookie season behind him, and him getting plenty of time off to work on things, it's not asking too much. He can't be handled with kit gloves any longer. He deserved his demotion today. But then again he's only 19 and we're only two games in. Maybe it will come,... I just hope sooner rather than later.
In case you guys ever wondered where this stuff comes from
He did a lot of the things you are complaining about in that play he scored on. He quickly closed in on the defender which caused that bad pass that chytil pounced on. Then he rushed back to the blueline so he wouldn't be offsides. I saw him along the boards a lot earlier in the game as well and winning battles.Great effort from the boys tonight. Also if he doesn't get his hands dirty, he'll never see the 18-20 minutes that he craves. So yeah, this has to be on his bucket list or else play third line minutes. He floats a lot trying to make himself open, but I can think only of one great player who made a living off that playing style: The Russian Rocket. Straight line player with good speed and good hockey sense. He’s usually in the right place when needed and he’s pretty good at puck retrieval.Even dating back to last season, there's just something about PDG that makes Chytil and Kakko tick. The two latter players have played their best hockey with PDG as the LW on their line.
Just got home, unless I wanna wait till 1:30 I gotta settle for the Isles broadcast for the replay![]()
We shit on Joe, but watching the Islanders feed Butch said "I still think if they play their A game they'll still win this hockey game". At least Joe doesn't openly root for the Rangers.
