He looked lanky on Thursday. The hits he took tonight didn’t really affect him? I’ll admit I’m surprised — but that’s definitely good news.

Edit: Maybe an Ottawa Redden is a better comparison if you see more offensive upside.
Malakhov was mentioned. I can see the similarities. He will catch up to NHL game pace, then I can see him become more assertive on offense

Georgie was excellent from puck drop.

Buch looked terrific. Lafreneire already looks super comfortable, Miller looked more comfortable and Kakko looked good. Glad he got a goal, Quinn needs to get him more involved. He needs more than 10 minutes. Get him on PP2.

JJ was invisible which is best case scenario with him. Brendan Smith looked good.

Strome looked terrible. Howden should not be on the PP.
Last paragraph should have been a part of the poll.

The individual analytics came in. Kreider and Zibanejad were our worst players so I'm chalking that up to whatever.

You know who led the team in xGF%?

Kaapo Kakko

Buchnevich’s second goal, haven’t seen a wrister like that since the great Erik Christensen.

I just never saw Malakhov on those teams That’s why I brought up Redden as an alternative. But at least the comp is a highly regarded defenseman.

very confident with the puck skated well completely shut down his side of the ice just so so smooth amazing seeing a guy that big skate like that. Led a few rushes plus 3 best CF% on the team I believe tonight. Just keeps getting better and better from the 2nd period of game 2 thru tonight
Whenever there’s a game where the Rangers are up big again, wanna see Miller get more minutes in the 3rd period and tell him to try some different things, experiment a bit.

That was a really good looking Top 4 D. The Stars went to the finals with Jaime Oleksiak. Sure he played with Heiskanen, but Fox is on par, different style of player, but Foxie can carry a pair. Really liked what Lindgren & Trouba brought. Smitty too. Contract Year. You have my benefit of the doubt now. No ill will, it's about the next win. Liked what he brought too in addition to Miller.

There's nothing soft about Lafreniere, Martin got 3 hits on him, followed by Ross. Wasn't phased by it. They went after Fox as well. That's a sign of respect, one that comes with retribution in its many forms, but Trotz going after them is Trotz going after a team's top guys. Lemeuix-Howden-Gauthier had good moments, thought they all played hard. Guys should be pushing for minutes. It's a long season, players will get worn out a bit so you can step up the next game.

Zibs had a very good efficient game. Strome too. Bread. Great f***ing game guys. Saturday Night. NYC.

no he was a great player then but he never was a great skater and he certainly wasn’t 6’5 210 lbs
He’s that big? Wow. I thought he was more like 6”3 and 190-200. That’s a special combination. I’ll gladly take Malakhov v2.0.
