TDA being benched is f***ing garbage. He’s consistently been one of the better d-men on the team. Hopefully he doesn’t have a short leash just because he’s a MAGA fan.

Not to make this about politics but unpopular opinions giving you a short leash in a pro sports league is right on brand for the world we live in today.

I can take Jack Johnson being shit.

I can't take the coach deciding to scratch another defenseman instead of him.

I swear there was a list of players somewhere that all coaches work together to give jobs to and never bench them for any reason

This has been an issue every single season. There's always at least one of these players on our team and it doesn't matter who the coach is
I touched on exactly this earlier this week.

Johnson
Staal/Girardi
Glass
Marcel Hossa
etc, etc

It never ends.

SO much stupid garbage being posted today. If NYR management was down on TDA because of his social media presence... which I expect they ARE... they would most certainly be making certain not to do anything in public that would diminish his attractiveness in a trade. Folks who say "don't let politics enter into it" are doing EXACTLY that with such moronic assertions.

Very clearly this has everything to do with past on-ice history with the player and previous statements to the player that there will be no tolerance for future instances of immature behaviors during play that put his teammates at a costly disadvantage. And once you have those sorts of communications with a player, you then have got to back it up by taking the promised actions.

Grow up folks. I expect we'll survive with Fox running PP1, and my only bitch is I'd rather see a hungry Smith playing more minutes than Johnson. Neither of those two is likely to play even less effectively than TDA did in Game 1. Sabotage my ass.

It can't be that or he would have already been gone.

Obviously TDA has some issues.

How do you ever find joy in anything when you are constantly negative?

The Rangers and David Quinn gave me nothing to be positive about since the lockdowns. And I was positive going into this game. When you come into a game and don't look like an NHL team you lose any trust you have. Maybe if that were game 10 after playing 9 games looking an NHL team, but 1 game sample and you don't look like an NHL team that's what you'll get. Especially coming on the heels of not looking like an NHL team in the play-in round.

Marcel Hossa was great here.
I remember him being decent but force fed top line minutes when it was evident that he was in over his head 90% of the time. The other 10% of the time, yes, he looked like an All Star when he played with Jagr.

He's hit or miss, he's either amazing or terrible, no in between.

Very rarely "terrible'" - there were several games last year that would have been 9-2 if he didn't stand on his head.

How many games did he give up 4 or 5 and it could have been 9 or 10?
How many games was he phenomenal and made Henrik an afterthought to the tripod?
(and there is no bigger Henrik fan than i am).

Georgiev is a longterm solution. Period.

I don't remember the other games off the top of my head but that first half of the Montreal comeback game...

It sorta makes me wonder what the rangers were doing in the off season. I know some were skating but you have to think most were dicking around thinking the season wasn’t gonna happen based on play. At least compared to other teams. I hope I’m wrong. Maybe is just rust and jitters? I know its one game but the lack of preparedness is a bit worrying. And the whole organization is to blame. Let’s hope for at least a better and more cohesive game tonight.

It.was.1.game...You are going to get stinkers like last game when you have the youngest team in the league,a few rookies, going against a very good team who will capitalize on your mistakes.
