I wouldn't be surprised if we saw nobody start in the NHL. Whoever takes Schaefer might want him to get in some more reps after his injury. And none of the top forwards are playing at a level that would force their teams hand.

I would be surprised if at least a few don't get games at the end of the season though. In addition to Schaefer, I would expect Hagens and Misa to get a taste.

What else does Misa need to do? Go back to ohl and have a 3ppg pace next year? He already has a very polished game. At the very least he will have at least a 9 game chance, but I believe he will be able to immediately help the entire season. He'll have more or less a Will Smith-level impact, but with a more complete game, imo.

I see him a bit like a Mitch Marner. It's not just about putting up points, but rounding out your game and getting stronger. He wouldn't be the first guy to light up the CHL in his draft year only to struggle to crack an NHL roster.

For Misa, I think a year in the NCAA could probably be a good stepping stone for him while giving him some extra development time in the gym.
