1992 Canadian National Team

Hey everyone, I was reading about Eric Lindros today and I remembered he played for Canada in the 1992 olympics, however after looking at his stats it showed that he and along with other players played quite a number of games for the national team that year and I've searched all over the web and can't find any info on this question...but

was the national team a full time gig during that time? who else did they play against besides in world championship and olympic tournaments? and when did this end?

I believe it was a full-time team as the Canadian National Junior Team. 80 US Olympic team also played something like 50 games.

Played against other national teams, in tournaments, against NHL teams, against Euro club teams. Started season in September. It was a full time team until 2000.

I remember them doing this, got to think if the Olympics goes back to amatuers playing the hockey tournament if they'd go back to playing something like this.
