Weekes and Bylsma on NHL network were gushing about the manipulation of the Leafs D on Bratt's assist. They point out how he passes the puck to Johansson to draw the leafs D behind the net, leaving Zacha all alone in front.

He's legitimately just so impressive. I'm blown away.

I noticed him doing this a few times.

His hockey IQ is off the charts in my opinion. The guy is thinking the game at top speed two or three steps ahead.

When he started impressing in camp I thought maybe he could be a Martin Erat kind of player - nice 'top 6' forward, good creativity, solid guy to have.

I honestly have no idea what I think his upside is at this point. It is not the 6 points in 3 games. It's just everything he's doing through the neutral zone and in the offensive zone. Somehow he knew on the PK tonight that Gardiner was going to play off him and he could get a quality chance. He made a dynamite pass to Johansson to spring him in the offensive zone. He tried to stickhandle through a Leaf D, got lucky to get the puck back but got it on net and drew a penalty. And I missed half the game watching baseball, so I probably missed some other good stuff he did.

Just wait until we see him 3 on 3.

The guy we've seen through the first 3 games has 100 point potential in the NHL. I have no idea if he stays that guy or not, but there's no question in my mind when I see the quality chances he creates. He could easily have another 2 or 3 points.

The assist wasn't sick. The play to keep the zone was sick.
Why was the assist not sick? A one touch pass right on the tape of a wide open player in front of the net. The whole sequence was fantastic, but the pass itself was very nice in it's own right.

its incredible how he creates space out of nothing. at one point last night, he spun away from two leafs, blew past the defense and good a good shot away out of NOWHERE. didn't score, but drew a penalty.

Getting Martin Erat like production out of a 6th rounder would be huge. If that's what Bratt turns into, we should all thank the hockey gods.
