Butcher easily won round 1. D Sean Day is added to the poll.

RULES CHANGE:

Since HF no longer functions beyond the forum, no reason to have their old rules. We do, however, need the same rules for everyone or else the rankings mean nothing.

SKATER PROSPECT: A player 24 or younger with 50 or fewer NHL games.

GOALIE PROSPECT: A player 25 or younger with 25 or fewer NHL games.

EXCEPTION 1: If a player completed the required 50/25 games, but is still not regarded as an NHL regular because he's shuffling between the NHL and the AHL, he could still be a prospect as long as he's 24 or younger and if agreed upon by most people here.

EXCEPTION 2: A player who is no older than 25 years old at the time of the vote and is a borderline NHLer could still count if agreed upon by most people here.

Please vote on who to add to the next round of polling.

Went DeAngelo. He's looking like he's ready to become an NHL regular and his upside is tremendous.

Not sure on who to add. Bereglazov I guess.

Reports in the last 24 hours were that we didn't/won't qualify Skapski. Paliotta hasn't been qualified as of yet, but that one still seems up in the air.

Lias Andersson for me and Bereglazov. Have to say that it's nice having a bunch of guys that have a lot of upside. And to me we have 5 top notch prospects for this list--Andersson, Buchnevich, Chytil, DeAngelo and Shesterkin.

Shesty. I'm usually loath to rank goalie prospects too high because they're so hit and miss, but his level of play has been so high for so long against such good competition, I have to put him here.

(Andersson next. Fully admit I'm dinging DeAngelo for the headcase risk factor.)

Add that warm, fuzzy pair of bear gloves.

DeAngelo add Bereglazov.

Unless we sign Shattenkirk, ADA is going to get premium PP minutes.

Can the person who voted for Day explain why?

I'm curious what the argument could be here. Not looking to chastise the opinion, just interested in what the actual logic is.

went Andersson, could crack our lineup as soon as October.
some fear we may never see Shesty (no need to indulge that tangent here, just explaining my why)

add Pionk

Shesty.

Then DeAngelo, then Andersson, then Chytil.

A really solid group of top 5 prospects. Nice to see for a change.

it wasnt me, but i get it
granted exceptional status following Tavares, Ekblad, McDavid
D with size and great skating
coming off a strong season and a Memorial Cup Win
maybe he was late putting it together, but now is now
after Buch, none of these guys are a sure sure thing

Figured Igor would be the clear #2 so threw some love his way. I think he has more upside than most people think ... especially in AV's system. He can move and has great hands ... that translates to success in a system that loves counter punch and uptempo play.

I just like big guys who can skate and have hands ... today's NHL those guys do well in a system like Rangers, Penguins, Oilers, etc.
