We should keep giving the 2nd PP more time. Kakko and LAF both look decent. LAF had some nice shifts before the goal.

LAF had historically the lowest PP time ever for a #1 pick.

We need to let them get some points on the PP to get their confidence going.


Edit; with that said - If LAF wasn't a 1st overall pick he'd be in the AHL by now.

I think if there is anything you need to worry with Kakko not being able to fix it’s that his waits way too long to pull the trigger on playmaking/shooting. He’s gotta speed up his mental clock and that is something that can certainly get better but it’s possible that it doesn’t.

The gaffes will eventually stop. The shit like missing open nets and passes bouncing off his stick or skates. He’s too good for that to continue; hell Dryden Hunt is too good to have that many gaffes.

His 2019-2020 season and second half of the 2021 season would beg to differ. He’s a good 5v5 player when he wants to be. Problem is most of the time it seems like he waits until the PP to do anything

He just doesn't drive play like a top center should, even when he goes on a sh% run like he did both of those instances.

He might have the worst shot on the team aside from maybe Goodrow and Nemeth. I remember when people said Kakko’s shot is on the level of or better than Laine’s. I have the receipts and could tag them. Kakko is a good goal scorer at every level but I’ve always been adamant his shot is not good.

Yeah I don't really know...any highlights and film I've seen from Kakko scoring its usually not a snipe but a nice power move in close. If he's got a deadly shot I haven't seen it...still a big fan of his don't get me wrong

When he’s on, he absolutely can drive play. This seasons Zibanejad is closer to his first half of 2021 than his second half of 2021 or his 2019/2020 run. His problem is that he hasn’t been consistent enough and relies too much on the powerplay to the point where it almost seems like he just waits for a powerplay to create instead of giving a full effort.
