That open net for Kakko was just more bad luck. Strome’s pass to him is slightly off so he can’t accept it cleanly, then one Devils player dives and swipes at him so he has to double clutch, then another covers the open net pretty well so he has to try and pick a corner.

If Strome’s initial pass is on the tape then Kakko can shoot it asap and it’s a goal.

He might have the worst shot on the team aside from maybe Goodrow and Nemeth. I remember when people said Kakko’s shot is on the level of or better than Laine’s. I have the receipts and could tag them. Kakko is a good goal scorer at every level but I’ve always been adamant his shot is not good.

I dont remember anyone saying his shot was better than Laine's. He was billed as better all around than Laine except his shot. Laine has the second best shot in the league.
