We got the victory, but Hazy took some of the sail out of the win near the end of the 3rd period when Hazy started listing off the Blue Jackets that were injured such as Gudbranson, Kent Johnson, and Boone Jenner.
To be fair we play with anchors like gudas killorn Vatrano strome

Hey Duckie, Any idea why Zegras is so trashed by this card? I watched the game. I certainly wouldnt have eyeballed him as the worst ducks forward…not even close. Same with Leason

five things, I'm guessing here...

1731298028837.png

1. bad Corsi %
2. penalty
3. 2 give aways
4. His linemates were bad defensively on the chart too; half the team was below 0 average team defense
5. his linemates got on the score sheet (Terry and Vatrano had an assist), but Z got none.

The eye test says Z doesn't match that chart, though.

Man, that kinda sucks that Zells shot hit the pipe, was a beautiful play and actually a great shot by him. I've been so impressed with him lately. Ik he is high risk but i honestly love it and it sounds like Cronin is fine with it.

Good for Leo to get one, he hadn't had any points since the Isles game, hopefully he can build on this. Really important they got this W and can enjoy it for few days now. If they had lost, wouldn't be fun at all to be ruminating about this one until Wednesday on top of all the other losses lately. Gibby was solid as well, hopefully he can stay strong with Dostal taking on a bigger role now.

It's nice to see a win. The Ducks could have had a few more goals. The same problems persist. Nothing has changed my mind about Cronin.

The PP look better with Zegras on the top unit. Even with his mistakes tonight, Zegras again showed lots of good things. Zellweger was flying tonight. I'll happily take the mistakes if he keeps skating the same way. Killorn and Vatrano really have to figure out what they are doing.

Great game by Gibson.

Z… Fantastic game. The dude can’t buy a goal, or even an assist. I thought for sure Terry would nail that one glorious chance he had, but, of course, he did his best Cutter impression and hit the post.

Every single forward except Fabbri, Killorn, and Z had a point.

Great bounce-back game from LaCombe as well.

Dumoulin is great. Nice play on Leo's goal.

Zegras played well last night but what in the wide, wide world of sports is Alex Killorn doing out there. Had really high hopes when we signed him but he's little more than a bearded, six-foot-two pylon.

The ducks AND chargers both won yesterday and I'm still not happy.

The ducks still don't look like a team that belongs in the NHL and the Chargers I'm just waiting for the next injury.

Agreed on the Ducks. Disagree on the Chargers. This team is for real. Best defense they've had in decades. Probably still can't score enough to beat the Chiefs in the playoffs but I think they can hang with anyone else in the AFC.

I agree the Chargers are looking solid. And love me some Justin Herbert rushing touchdowns as well. It's the injuries that have me worried for that team, they can never stay healthy once they put it all together.

Can't even blame injuries for the shortcomings of the ducks though.

Our netminders help to disguise a lot of our flaws in the standings. If they're not on point, then it just exposes how inept we truly are.

Reimer's been in only two games this whole season. His last game wasn't great.

1731345073522.png

Guess Reimer's last outing of 0.824 Sv% had the coaching staff put him on the shelf and just ride Dostal until Gibby returns. The Ducks have played Dostal for five consecutive games since. Anaheim rode Dostal until he looked like dead horse still being beaten down. His Nov numbers reflect that.

Enter Gibson into last night's game.

With Gibby's great performance last night, it truly shows how goalie dependent we are in accruing wins or points as well as masking our shit show. We lost all possession metrics last night, faceoff battles, and special teams events, but won the game.

I dunno if we come out with a win or a point if Dostal or Reimer were in net last night.

Yeah, we weren't good last night outside of a few really good individual performances like Gibby. Leo had beautiful shot for the goal but he needs to take it up a notch IMO. Get in a pattern of where he puts up like 8 points in 10 games or something. Not expecting him to catch fire necessarily but get in a groove where the points are coming consistently.

Sure, it's nice to get a W, but I think the Jackets were clearly the better team. At least the PP looked like it had some spark in it and finally movement towards the goal, not just crisscrossing at the blueline. Great comeback from Gibby though! A little competition is never bad and really, they need to share the workload because they need to handle way too many shots per game with this defense.

I don't like where they have Vatrano play on the PP. I get why they put him there - for his shot - but when you play there, more often than not you're required to make good passes and win battles for the puck. He hasn't even been that dangerous with his shot there either. I'd rather see Z or Mctavish in that spot. I think Z was playing on the 1st unit last night at times so hopefully that continues.

Zegras needs to be on the first unit for zone entries alone.

That unit looked really good. My only issue with that unit, they need someone to be net front presence. If they had two threats from both sides would be hard to defend but screening the goalie will really help their odds to covert, when getting those SOG.

I'm curious with Fowler not playing, what was the ice time distribution for our defensemen?
