I dunno but ESPN might be right:

“His intensity was still very high. We focused on Olympic weightlifting and plyometrics for power, and sled-training for speed and strength. This way, we were able to continue to maintain his body weight at a steady 218 pounds and keep his strength levels very high.

“I weighed in at 209 pounds this morning,” said Price, who has taken about 10 pounds off his weight while maintaining his strength.

I'm concerned that we don't have a viable heavyweight to match all the Bruins goons.

It sucks but it's not too dire. Chara doesn't exactly pick fights. Really it's only Thornton. Prust has matched up with Lucic before. 1st time was good but 2nd one wasn't that great. He'll still go with him. After those three there really isn't much that's scary.

I don't think guys like Moen White or Prust are too scared of Thornton. If Chara wants to fight, just tackle him to the ice like he did to BGL.

What still?! I thought we got bigger, did the rest of the league get even bigger?

The team is bigger. The thing is, we still have a bunch of smaller players (Desharnais, Gionta and Gallagher for example).

Most of the team isn't small though.

If Gallagher were 6'1" our top-six average would be an inch taller!

Every NHL team has small players. Winning NHL teamsd have players of all size, size isn't a big factor in wins and losses in the big picture. Vancouver was bigger but Boston played with more grit and got the goaltending and won. Recchi Marchand Krejci Bergeron Ference Peverley were all playing big minutes and they are no giants.

Boston isn't good because of their size they have skill too. We don't need to be the biggest team in the league to succeed. It's sure that last place in height isn't good, but it's not a deciding factor in how good we are.

The loss of Gill and the addition of Gallagher and Boullion (for height) skew the results.

That's why these numbers are somewhat meaningless. If you trade Gallagher or Desharnais for Brian Boyle, suddenly we aren't smurfs anymore!
