Top line/PP1 Geekie. That'll please the folks who want him scratched. I think he's been just ok for the Bruins. He felt more noticeable in Seattle and there was the odd game there where he'd have a really big impact, and it doesn't feel like he's yet reached that level in Boston. So while it does seem strange to see him potentially being bumped up the pecking order in this one, perhaps it will get him going and give him some extra confidence and opportunity to shine. If we're lucky he'll take it.
Otherwise the lines are a complete blender, and seem to be more so than strictly needed even allowing for the absence of Zacha. All 3 of the top 9 combinations have spent less than 5 mins together so far this season, so there's no formbook on any of them. You can probably think of reasons why this or that might work, but reality is we don't really know, probably the coach doesn't either. We'll start with this, see how it shapes up (hopefully good) and I'm sure changes will be made as we go along.
The Devils of course have injury issues of their own, so no excuses for the Bs. You put on the ice what you can and try and make the best of it.
