We are off! The US of A had a day against the Germans offensively with Cole Hutson getting 5 apples and James Hagens with 2+2. And wouldn't you know it, they're both on my team! Canada kept the Finns quiet which hampered scores across the board.

All in all I have a two point lead over @pit with a tie for third between @CutOnDime97 and @Captain Dave Poulin. @BigToe is not far behind.

Please have a look at the player stats to ensure that I've not made any mistakes. The first few days are more prone to errors from my end before I get familiar with the rosters.

Calling it a big upset doesn't quite do it justice, but Latvia's win over Canada sure impacted the scores in this pool. As in, there was barely any change to the scores. Good thing we don't do any pick 'em or we'd all be eliminated by now. The Latvians reward? They're playing USA later today....

Czechia's rout of Kazakhstan meant good things for me as Stancl came in big with a 3+2 effort. Other Czech stars were a little quiet in comparison. Eduard Sale's two assists mean @Captain Dave Poulin is the new second place holder, but it's a tight race.

Canada being ass in general is certainly unexpected. Euro-heavy in the top scorers list this year so far. Lets see if the NYE matchup between Canada and USA can act as a spark plug for some scoring.

@Captain Dave Poulin is back atop the standings after the completion of the group stage! The points were spread a bit more evenly across teams but Cap still finds a way to create some separation going into the playoffs.

I pass @pit for second place but the race is tight with just one point separating us.

Backend of the standings is also a tight race where @CutOnDime97 and @BigToe is currently tied for fourth.

@Captain Dave Poulin is still in the lead and maintains the 6 point gap which he has opened up. Behind Cap @pit has overtaken me for second place, but there is only one point separating us.

Canada being elimininated sure could turn out to be interesting as we're all impacted to various degrees. Although, that can be debated. Canada was shit throughout and made no one happy (especially not @CutOnDime97 and @BigToe who went heavy on the Canadians in the early stages of the draft).
Good riddance I say!

Pardon the lack of updates after the semifinals. I was away and couldn't tally the numbers prior to the final day.

In the end, it was never close and @Captain Dave Poulin wins convincingly! Congratulations to Cap for an impressive draft.

I got in just ahead of @pit for second place, with only two points separating us (barring any miscalculation of course, I am biased here after all).
