  • Xenforo Cloud upgraded our forum to XenForo version 2.3.4. This update has created styling issues to our current templates, this is just a temporary look. We will continue to work on clearing up these issues for the next few days and restore the site to it's more familiar look, but please report any other issues you may experience so we can look into. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

The puck dies on his stick 99.9% of the time.

Stamkos, Paul. Sergachev, and Raddysh are a combined -49! :help:
That has been the case for a while. I think a lot of guys benefited from Kucherov hitting a different level 4 or 5 years ago, and probably Point's ability to gain the zone on the PP too (Kucherov himself has probably benefitted a lot from this, even though obviously Point benefits even more from Kuch). Not saying he's bad by any means. He just is what he is, which is a sort of complementary player who can put up big points in the right situation. Hagel seems to be the better fit at 5v5 for now on the top line though, so we might find ourselves a bit frustrated with Stamkos.

I mean, on one hand, we can say it's because he doesn't really gel with anyone on the 2nd line or lower. But then when I think about it, the only two players Stamkos has ever gelled with at a high level, unless I'm forgetting someone, are MSL and Kucherov, literally the top 2 offensive weapons in the team's history.
