I wouldn't mind Quinn gone but this shit that we suck when we lose a game and we are great when we win a game is so tiresome.
I never said he is good when we win, I still want him gone. His coaching doesnt pass the, as Quinn puts it, " EYE TEST"...

I want Laf taking those shots not PDG. At least PDG is thinking aggressive

Too aggressive.

He's been an absolute monster along the boards but he has this weird tunnel vision. Had Laf wide open for a 1T at one point from inside the dots but opted for a bad angle shot instead..

On my list of things to complain about with this team, hes near the bottom though.

Yeah, Laf has a loooong way to go. He’s hardly been a revelation.

Just found it funny that in a game where we needed offense, Quinn decides to do nothing.
These kids can make up ground quickly

Henrik Lundqvist will always be a part of all of us as long as Snowblind keeps yelling at goalies after the game the way he did with Henrik for 10 years.

Haha, it wasn't Shesterkin's fault, he was one of the players least at fault but it's been a trend this season. The garbage offense is obviously the biggest problem.

Funny takes in here on lafreniere who looked the best he has since the first two games of the season.

I guess he looked good skating around. I was just kinda hoping he'd have an offensive impact.

Playmaker abilities, scoring touch. Flashes of brilliance we see from all the other 1 OA's...

Yep.

The PP is so frustrating to me. And constantly trying cross ice passes when the islanders and parking the bus
If they would just put it on net for rebounds, then they break down the PK box and can try all the cross ice shit they want while PKers are scrambling to get back into position. Cross ice shit doesn't work when everyone is standing still against a perfect box.

I thought the Lafreniere-Howden-DiGi line looked pretty good.

Gauthier was the most noticeable he has ever been.

Top 4 D played really well. Shesty played really well.

Trouba was fighting it out there.

Nothing really to say about Quinn here. The team played tight defensively, one of their best efforts in the last 2 years. Maybe Jacques Martin is really to thank for that.

As I mentioned, it looked like Gauthier disappeared in that 3rd period, so thats absolutely mind boggling.

But everything else is on the players. Hajek is a bum. Bitetto is in because we have injuries. Panarin and Zibanejad did not come up clutch. The PP has been an absolute disaster this year, so maybe that is on Quinn. Its really bad. The best it looked was when DeAngelo was on it, unfortunately, in his last game here. Lafreniere is not shooting enough. Maybe move Kreider to the 3rd line, swap him with Lafreniere. Kreider plays a strong north-south game that could work well with Howden and DiGi.

I kinda feel like we are good enough. The Pens don't impress me at all. Buffalo and NJD will be/should be below us. The Islanders are that much better than us? not sure about that.
I would say most of the kids are getting decent playing time. Whether or not DQ is developing them is another debate.
I want this team to win. Get that good feeling with hopefully the young kids contributing to it.
We'll probably do that next year.

If covid doesn't happen, we don't come anywhere near the playoffs last year. Where are so much better?

The Caps, Flyers, and Bruins are locks. So we have to beat four other teams one of which was in the ECF last year.

I don't know we expected in regards to making the playoffs.

He set up Howden nicely a few times who mishandled the puck per usual. He was physical and in on the forecheck nicely.

Also, this team needs to keep it simple in the offensive zone. Not sure how many times they need to fail in one game before they try something new. Get bodies in front and shoot low, try to get some deflections and tip ins. Everything is off the rush and the Islanders eat that shit up

I'm a guy who doesn't mind losing games as long as the young guys improve and take steps forward. Otherwise, why didn't we just keep Stepan, Zucc, McDonath, etc? Tired of seeing losses with veterans playing like dog shit
Our young guys have improved but I would argue not as much as I would like to.

The PP ultimately falls on Quinn.

I got carried away with Shesterkin, I don't think he's at fault at all. I'm just tired of giving up backbreaking third period goals. But obviously the offense being shit was the problem.

So once again for the zillionth time, Dominick Hasek....oops I mean Varlamov goes all god mode at the sight of NY Ranger jerseys even the Lady Liberty ones for cripes sake.

It's the most uncanny thing with this guy. If Varly played like he plays against the Rangers with the rest of the league, he'd have easy 2-3 Vezina's by now!

Friggen ridiculous already....ugh...sniff sniff!!

Did you watch this game?

He set up 3 opportunities that were completely beefed on.

There isn't really anywhere to put him in the top 6 unless you want to bump someone else down (and Id rather not have him playing with Zibaenjad) but its hard to rack up points when you're playing with/ setting up the likes of Brett Howden.
