Does he have a connection to them?
He does. He grew up a monster Isle fan and was a young teenager during the "Drive For Five" nausea in the early 80's.

He also is a rumored well known Ranger hater. It pains him to give any honest praise to the Rangers. But he tries when he has to with a red face and vain popping on his temple..

I have liked Kakko defensively. It was one of his biggest failings before the draft, and in the last season. He has made some good defensive plays so far this season, and not been a huge liability.

Good defensive game so far

Defense has been good on both ends, the on ice product sucks.

I get very limited time to watch games with a couple of young ones running around the house, last thing I want to see is a bunch of players skating around the perimeter, sporadically taking shots that get blocked.

Give me a couple of high danger chances. Hoping the 2nd has some element of excitement to it.

The team has suspect chemistry. It also looks like they never know where their teammates are going to be at any given time.

I don't get why he's such a big presence in hockey. He doesn't seem to be particularly good at his job.

You should cross off any NYI games from your watch schedule then

Why all the negativity after a relatively evenly played period

Quinn finally got a period where he could roll all 4 lines and 3 pairings, we didn't give up a goal or take a penalty.

I'd call that an even period. Needless to say, we need to score the 1st goal. I just wanna see the Isles "try" and open it up playing down in the game, like they make it rough for opposing teams when they have the lead.

If kakko keeps playing like this quinn will start trusting him enough to make some plays. He’s been tremendous defensively

I just don’t like the offensive zone scheme with Quinn. I think it’s pretty simple, you outnumber the opponent down low with your forwards. I think forward 2 and 3 are usually too far back or too slow to get there. Basically making it 1v2 or 1v3 against down low.
yeah I hate it too. Puck support and spacing seems off, especially when you compare them to other teams.

It's like Buch was color blind that period. I mean he wasn't the only one but passing right to the wrong guy

A game like the second half of that period favors them.
Their designed for a tight checking game, were a more wide open team. We need to get some more sustained offensive time, like that Laf line early in the period.
