Solid list!

I'll never agree with that Tavares pick as the MVP for the 09-10 tournament though. I think he was outplayed by Hodgson pretty much the entire tournament.
This I kind of disagree with your #10 position :P

I also believe that Manny Legace in the '93 tournament stole that tournament. He won that gold. I would have him in a top 10 list.

This is a very subjective subject so it's hard to find issue. Most of the picks are good. One issue though is Jagr. Robert Reichel was a better WJC player than Jagr, having played very well in the tournament three times to Jagr's one and outscoring Jagr the year that they played together.

Hodgson: Led the team in scoring in a team with Tavares and Eberle.

Jordan Schroeder: WJC scoring leader during his time with the Americans. Dominated the WJC.

Where are they now? Busts.

Conclusion: This Tournament don't mean anything.

Well if this isn't sound logic. Taking a few anecdotal exceptions and making a rule of them.

Does dominating in CHL and NCAA also not mean anything?

Cause Hodgson and Schroeder did that as well and still busted.

Maybe nothing means anything?

In regards to Schroeder and Hodgson dominating the WJC as Canucks prospects then "busting", an interesting little trivia tidbit is that in the first decade and a half of this tournament, the Top Forward Directorate award was jam packed with Canucks prospects. Some busted, some were pretty damn good. Some will make you say "That guy won best forward?!"

Here's the list:

1979 - Vladimir Krutov
1980 - Vladimir Krutov
1981 - Patrik Sundstrom
1982 - Petri Skriko
1986 - Jim Sandlak
1987 - Robert Kron
1989 - Pavel Bure

Not included in that list is a guy that wasn't a Canucks prospect but did later play for them in Alexander Mogilny (1988)

Overall, not a bad prospect haul. Kinda makes you think the Canucks should have been a lot better in the 80's.

Krutov - amazing talent but we got him too late and he couldn’t adjust to life outside the Soviet system (or so I read)
Sundstrom - great player
Skriko- very good player
Sandlak - whoops
Kron- an early Michael Grabner minus the shot, decent but never found his touch
Bure - nuff said

Some nice pieces but being in the same div as Gretzky and the Calgary Calder kids resulted in us pretty much getting our lunch money stolen for an entire decade.
