I still think I'd rather him getting 20+ minutes on the Knights than Risto-type minutes here.
Ultimately, that would be my preference. But if the kid can impress....

I was at the game ......... Myers looks lost on the ice. It's as if he has no hockey IQ, isn't sure where he is supposed to be on the ice or where the play is going. It's hard to give up on a player that started with so much promise but it may be time. He should be a potential compliance buyout target. Maybe we can debate what his talent level is but there`s not debate about him not being worth 5.5mil a season for five more seasons after this one. That money would be better spent in the future on players that deserve it.
I was at the game and didn't see all of their movements on each shift but I tried to keep an eye on Zaddy and Girgs and thought both played well with and without the puck. I'm looking forward to seeing more of Zaddy throughout the season and hope they keep him up with the big club, assuming he doesn't regress from last night. Myers looks lost on the ice. His play has been acceptable, we're not going to buy him out. It's not even like we have cap concerns. See if he improves his play, if he doesn't, don't re-sign or sign him for cheaper.
He's not being bought it and the thought of it is asinine.
Last night he was pretty good I thought offensively. No way would Myers be bought out. He's still very young and still has the size and tools that are tantalizing and if you put Myers on the trade block there might be teams willing to take a big gamble. Even if there aren't right now, we are fairly loaded with defense prospects - pretty sure there will periods when Myers appears to be putting things together and that will be an opportunity to trade him.
Trading and giving up on a 6'7'' half condor half human at 23 years old comes at a huge risk - would be torture to watch Myers blossom into what we hoped he would be about now belatedly at say 26 years old becoming a force in the league for 10 years wearing another team's jersey.
He hasn't been the trainwreck he was last year this season from what I've seen.
