He's healthy and productive. 34-48-82 in 75 games. He'll be UFA at 31 when the last year of his current deal expires next summer. For a proven goal-scorer his salary is affordable, and he's likely going to want to sign and stick around with any team to which he's traded. He doesn't need to be moved from STL, but he's definitely available for the right package.

Is there a 'right package' out there from a team in need of a goal-scoring RW? Prospects, picks and/or players would be considered, though one would have to assume that if Tarasenko is traded the salaries coming back to STL would be significantly less (unless it's a top-4 LHD coming back). This would be a summer-time move; before or after the draft and start of free-agency matters not.

Is St. Louis rebuilding? He’s got 1 year left but why not sign him? Seems like they have a good team and were the only ones to give Colorado any sort of trouble.

Can’t see why they would trade him for picks/prospects.

Having said that, I would be very interested in Pittsburgh. Not sure what the “right package” would be in this case but I’ll start at 21OA and Kapanen’s rights

21 OA and your number one LHD prospect. No retainment
Pens don’t really have LHD prospects. POJ might fit the bill but isnt really a prospect.

I thought he showed well in his games with the big club but has seem to get stuck in the AHL.

I would do 21OA and POJ for Tarasenko no retention.

Only if we have the cap space. If Letang and Malkin come back we definitely won’t
