When you really think about it, how could Friday the 13th not be true, you know? Everything about that run. Of all the teams to beat in one playoff tournament, they beat SJ, Ana, and Chi. Coming back from 0-3. Three Game 7 wins on the road. Winning every home game against the Rangers in OT, and the Rangers could've easily won any or all 3 of those games. They hit as many posts as the Kings did in Game 5.

Game 5 is still the last home playoff win for the Kings since. On June 14th, 2014, nobody would've guessed there wouldn't be a single win on home ice in the playoffs over the next 5 years. No matter what, nobody would've guessed that. As much as that reality sucks, it is why we all watch sports. Because you don't really know what will happen. As much as everyone is upset tonight, the Kings could end up with the best player in the draft at #5. Crazier things have happened. Much, much crazier things.

If we knew what was going to happen, we wouldn't care.

Now it's like it's time to pay the piper. Sold your soul to the devil to win and now he's here to collect. I was hoping it'd end with some draft lottery luck, but nope, still going. Maybe Vilardi will suddenly heal up and be 100% at camp. That'd be a great start towards improved fortunes.
